1. A parábola do rico insensato

15 And He said to them, Watch and keep yourselves from covetousness. For a man's life is not in the abundance of the things which he possesses.

16 And He spoke a parable to them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully.

17 And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room in which to store my fruits?

18 And he said, I will do this. I will pull down my barns and build bigger ones, and I will store all my fruits and my goods there.

19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have many goods laid [up] for many years. Take your ease, eat drink [and] be merry.

20 But God said to him, Fool! This night your soul shall be required of you, then whose shall be those things which you have prepared?

21 So [is] he who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God.

35 I have shown you all things, that working in this way we ought to help the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

3. O jovem rico como exemplo de desapego

Marcos 10:21,22 nos ensina que seguir a Cristo exige abrir mão do apego material.

21 Then Jesus, beholding him, loved him and said to him, One [thing] you lack. Go, sell whatever you have and give it to the poor, and you shall have treasure in Heaven. And come, take up the cross and follow Me.

22 And he was sad at that saying and went away grieved, for he had great possessions.
