1. Parábola do Semeador (Mateus 13:3-9)
3 And He spoke many things to them in parables, saying, Behold, the sower went out to sow.
4 And as he sowed, some [seeds] fell by the wayside, and the birds came and devoured them.
5 Some fell on stony places, where they did not have much earth. And they sprang up immediately, because they [had] no deepness of earth.
6 And [the] sun rising, they were scorched, and because they had no root, they withered away.
7 And some fell among thorns. And the thorns sprung up and choked them.
8 And some fell on the good ground and yielded fruit, indeed one a hundredfold, and one sixty, and one thirty.
9 He who has ears to hear, let him hear.
2. O Bom Samaritano (Lucas 10:25-37)
25 And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tempted Him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
26 He said to him, What is written in the law? How do you read it?
27 And answering, he said, You shall love [the] Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.
28 And He said to him, You have answered right; do this and you shall live.
29 But he, willing to justify himself, said to Jesus, And who is my neighbor?
30 And answering, Jesus said, A certain [man] went down from Jerusalem to Jericho and fell among robbers, who stripped him of his clothing and wounded him, and departed, leaving [him] half dead.
31 And by coincidence a certain priest came down that way and seeing him, he passed by on the opposite [side].
32 And in the same way a Levite, also being at the place, coming and seeing [him], he passed on the opposite [side].
33 But a certain traveling Samaritan came upon him, and seeing him, he was filled with pity.
34 And coming near, [he] bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine, and set him on his own animal and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
35 And going on the next day, he took out two denarii and gave [them] to the innkeeper, and said to him, Take care of him. And whatever more you spend, when I come again I will repay you.
36 Then which of these three, do you think, was neighbor to him who fell among the robbers?
37 And he said, The [one] doing the [deed of] mercy to him. And Jesus said to him, Go and do likewise.
3. A Ovelha Perdida (Lucas 15:4-7)
4 What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness and go after that which is lost until he finds it?
5 And when he has found [it], he lays [it] on his shoulders, rejoicing.
6 And when he comes home, he calls together [his] friends and neighbors, saying to them, Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost.
7 I say to you that likewise joy shall be in Heaven over one sinner who repents, more than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.
4. O Filho Pródigo (Lucas 15:11-32)
11 And He said, A certain man had two sons.
12 And the younger of them said to [his] father, Father, give me the portion of goods that is coming [to me]. And he divided [his] living to them.
13 And not many days afterward, the younger son gathered all together and went away into a far country. And there he wasted his property, living dissolutely.
14 And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land. And he began to be in want.
15 And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country. And he sent him into his fields to feed pigs.
16 And he was longing to fill his belly with the husks that the pigs ate, and no one gave to him.
17 And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father abound in loaves, and I perish with hunger!
18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, Father, I have sinned against Heaven and before you
19 and am no more worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants.
20 And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.
21 And the son said to him, Father, I have sinned against Heaven and before you, and am no more worthy to be called your son.
22 But the father said to his servants, Bring the best robe and put [it] on him. And put a ring on his hand and shoes on [his] feet.
23 And bring the fattened calf here and kill [it]. And let us eat and be merry,
24 for this my son was dead and is alive again, he was lost and is found. And they began to be merry.
25 And his elder son was in the field. And as he came and drew near the house, he heard music and dancing.
26 And he called one of the servants and asked what these things meant.
27 And he said to him, Your brother has come, and your father has killed the fattened calf because he has received him safe and sound.
28 And he was angry and would not go in. Therefore his father came out and entreated him.
29 And answering he said to [his] father, Lo, these many years I have served you, neither did I transgress your commandment at any time. And yet you never gave [me] a kid so that I might make merry with my friends.
30 But when this son of yours came, who has devoured your living with harlots, you have killed for him the fattened calf.
31 And he said to him, Son, you are always with me, and all that I have is yours.
32 It was right that we should make merry and be glad, for this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.
5. A Pérola de Grande Valor (Mateus 13:45-46)
45 Again, the kingdom of Heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls;
46 who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.
6. O Fariseu e o Publicano (Lucas 18:9-14)
9 And He spoke this parable to certain ones who trusted in themselves, that they were righteous, and despised others:
10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a tax-collector.
11 The Pharisee stood and prayed within himself in this way: God, I thank You that I am not as other men [are], extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax-collector.
12 I fast twice [on] the Sabbath, I give tithes of all that I possess.
13 And standing afar off, the tax-collector would not even lift up [his] eyes to Heaven, but struck on his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner!
14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified [rather] than the other. For everyone who exalts himself shall be abased, and he who humbles himself shall be exalted.
7. Os Talentos (Mateus 25:14-30)
14 For [it is] as if a man going abroad called [his] own servants and gave them his goods.
15 And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to each according to his ability. And he went abroad at once.
16 And going he who had received the five talents traded with them, and made another five talents.
17 And likewise he who [had received] two, he also gained another two.
18 But he who had received the one talent went and dug in the earth and hid his lord's silver.
19 After a long time the lord of those servants came and took account with them.
20 And so he who had received five talents came and brought another five talents, saying, Lord, you delivered five talents to me. Behold, I have gained five talents above them.
21 His lord said to him, Well [done], good and faithful servant! You have been faithful over a few things; I will [make] you [ruler] over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.
22 He also who had received two talents came and said, Lord, you delivered two talents to me. Behold, I have gained two other talents above them.
23 His lord said to him, Well [done], good and faithful servant! You have been faithful over a few things, I will [make] you [ruler] over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.
24 And he who had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew that you were a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you did not scatter.
25 And I was afraid and went and hid your talent in the earth. Lo, you have yours.
26 His lord answered and said to him, Evil and slothful servant! You knew that I reaped where I did not sow, and gathered where I did not scatter,
27 then you should have put my money to the exchangers, and coming I would have received my own with interest.
28 Therefore take the talent from him and give [it] to him who has ten talents.
29 For to everyone who has, [more] shall be given, and he will abound. But from him who has not, even that which he has shall be taken away from him.
30 And throw the unprofitable servant into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
8. O Rico e Lázaro (Lucas 16:19-31)
19 There was a certain rich man who [was] customarily clothed in purple and fine linen and making merry in luxury every day.
20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, who was laid at his gate, full of sores
21 and desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table. But even the dogs came and licked his sores.
22 And it happened that the beggar died and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom. The rich one also died and was buried.
23 And in hell he lifted up his eyes, being in torments, and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me and send Lazarus so that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am tormented in this flame.
25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that you in your lifetime received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things. But now he is comforted and you are tormented.
26 And besides all this, there is a great chasm fixed between you and us; so that they desiring to pass from here to you cannot, nor can they pass over to us from there.
27 And he said, I beg you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father's house,
28 for I have five brothers, so that he may testify to them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
29 Abraham said to him, They have Moses and the prophets, let them hear them.
30 And he said, No, father Abraham, but if one should go to them from [the] dead, they would repent.
31 And he said to him, If they do not hear Moses and the Prophets, they will not be persuaded, even though one rose from [the] dead.
9. O Joio e o Trigo (Mateus 13:24-30)
24 He put out another parable to them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field.
25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed darnel among the wheat and went his way.
26 But when the blade had sprung up and had produced fruit, then the darnel also appeared.
27 So the servants of the householder came and said to him, Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? Then where have the darnel come from?
28 He said to them, An enemy has done this. The servants said to him, Then do you want us to go and gather them up?
29 But he said, No, lest while you gather up the darnel you also root up the wheat with them.
30 Let both grow together until the harvest. And in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, First gather together the darnel and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my granary.
10. As Dez Virgens (Mateus 25:1-13)
1 Then shall the kingdom of Heaven be likened to ten virgins, who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.
2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
3 The foolish ones took their lamps, but took no oil with them.
4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom comes! Go out to meet him.
7 Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps.
8 And the foolish said to the wise, Give us [some] of your oil, for our lamps have gone out.
9 But the wise answered, saying, [No], lest there be not enough for us and you. But rather go to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.
10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came. And they who were ready went in with him to the marriage, and the door was shut.
11 Afterwards the other virgins came also, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
12 But he answered and said, Truly I say to you, I do not know you.
13 Therefore watch, for you do not know either the day or the hour in which the Son of man comes.
