E partiu Israel com tudo quanto tinha, e veio a Berseba, e ofereceu sacrifícios ao Deus de seu pai Isaque. 
E falou Deus a Israel em visões de noite, e disse: Jacó, Jacó! E ele disse: Eis-me aqui. 
E disse: Eu sou Deus, o Deus de teu pai; não temas descer ao Egito, porque eu te farei ali uma grande nação. 
E descerei contigo ao Egito, e certamente te farei tornar a subir, e José porá a sua mão sobre os teus olhos. 
Então levantou-se Jacó de Berseba; e os filhos de Israel levaram a seu pai Jacó, e seus meninos, e as suas mulheres, nos carros que Faraó enviara para o levar. 
E tomaram o seu gado e os seus bens que tinham adquirido na terra de Canaã, e vieram ao Egito, Jacó e toda a sua descendência com ele; 
Os seus filhos e os filhos de seus filhos com ele, as filhas, e as filhas de seus filhos, e toda a sua descendência levou consigo ao Egito. 
E estes são os nomes dos filhos de Israel, que vieram ao Egito, Jacó e seus filhos: Rúben, o primogênito de Jacó. 
E os filhos de Rúben: Enoque, Palu, Hezrom e Carmi. 
E os filhos de Simeão: Jemuel, Jamim, Oade, Jaquim, Zoar e Saul, filho de uma mulher cananéia. 
E os filhos de Levi: Gérson, Coate e Merari. 
E os filhos de Judá: Er, Onã, Selá, Perez e Zerá; Er e Onã, porém, morreram na terra de Canaã; e os filhos de Perez foram Hezrom e Hamul. 
E os filhos de Issacar: Tola, Puva, Jó e Sinrom. 
E os filhos de Zebulom: Serede, Elom e Jaleel. 
Estes são os filhos de Lia, que ela deu a Jacó em Padã-Arã, além de Diná, sua filha; todas as almas de seus filhos e de suas filhas foram trinta e três. 
E os filhos de Gade: Zifiom, Hagi, Suni, Esbom, Eri, Arodi e Areli. 
E os filhos de Aser: Imna, Isvá, Isvi, Berias e Sera, a irmã deles; e os filhos de Berias: Héber e Malquiel. 
Estes são os filhos de Zilpa, a qual Labão deu à sua filha Lia; e deu a Jacó estas dezesseis almas. 
Os filhos de Raquel, mulher de Jacó: José e Benjamim. 
E nasceram a José na terra do Egito, Manassés e Efraim, que lhe deu Azenate, filha de Potífera, sacerdote de Om. 
E os filhos de Benjamim: Belá, Bequer, Asbel, Gera, Naamã, Eí, Rôs, Mupim, Hupim e Arde. 
Estes são os filhos de Raquel, que nasceram a Jacó, ao todo catorze almas. 
E o filho de Dã: Husim. 
E os filhos de Naftali: Jazeel, Guni, Jezer e Silém. 
Estes são os filhos de Bila, a qual Labão deu à sua filha Raquel; e deu estes a Jacó; todas as almas foram sete. 
Todas as almas que vieram com Jacó ao Egito, que saíram dos seus lombos, fora as mulheres dos filhos de Jacó, todas foram sessenta e seis almas. 
E os filhos de José, que lhe nasceram no Egito, eram duas almas. Todas as almas da casa de Jacó, que vieram ao Egito, eram setenta. 
E Jacó enviou Judá adiante de si a José, para o encaminhar a Gósen; e chegaram à terra de Gósen. 
Então José aprontou o seu carro, e subiu ao encontro de Israel, seu pai, a Gósen. E, apresentando-se-lhe, lançou-se ao seu pescoço, e chorou sobre o seu pescoço longo tempo. 
E Israel disse a José: Morra eu agora, pois já tenho visto o teu rosto, que ainda vives. 
Depois disse José a seus irmãos, e à casa de seu pai: Eu subirei e anunciarei a Faraó, e lhe direi: Meus irmãos e a casa de meu pai, que estavam na terra de Canaã, vieram a mim! 
E os homens são pastores de ovelhas, porque são homens de gado, e trouxeram consigo as suas ovelhas, e as suas vacas, e tudo o que têm. 
Quando, pois, acontecer que Faraó vos chamar, e disser: Qual é o vosso negócio? 
Então direis: Teus servos foram homens de gado desde a nossa mocidade até agora, tanto nós como os nossos pais; para que habiteis na terra de Gósen, porque todo o pastor de ovelhas é abominação aos egípcios.

And Israel took his journey with all that he had, and came to Beersheba, and offered sacrifices to the God of his father Isaac. 
And God spoke to Israel in the visions of the night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here I am. 
And he said, I am God, the God of thy father. Fear not to go down into Egypt, for I will there make of thee a great nation. 
I will go down with thee into Egypt, and I will also surely bring thee up again, and Joseph shall put his hand upon thine eyes. 
And Jacob rose up from Beersheba, and the sons of Israel carried Jacob their father, and their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him. 
And they took up their goods, and all their property, which they had gotten in the land of Canaan, they came into the land of Egypt, Jacob, and all his seed with him: 
the sons, and the sons of his sons with him, [his] daughters, and the daughters of his daughters. And he brought all his seed into Egypt. 
And these are the names of the sons of Israel who came into Egypt with their father Jacob, Jacob and his sons: The firstborn of Jacob, Reuben. 
And the sons of Reuben, Hanoch, and Phallu, Hezron, and Carmi. 
And the sons of Simeon: Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul, the son of a Canaanite woman. 
And the sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari. 
And the sons of Judah: Er, and Onan, and Shelah, and Perez, and Zarah, but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan. And the sons of Perez were Hezron and Hamul. 
And the sons of Issachar: Tola, and Puvah, and Asum, and Sambran. 
And the sons of Zebulun: Sered, and Allon, and Jahleel. 
These are the sons of Leah, whom she bore to Jacob in Paddan-aram, with his daughter Dinah; all the souls of his sons and his daughters were thirty-three. 
And the sons of Gad: Ziphion, and Haggi, Shuni, and Ezbon, Eri, and Arodi, and Areli. 
And the sons of Asher: Imnah, and Ishvah, and Ishvi, and Beriah, and Serah their sister, and the sons of Beriah: Heber, and Malchiel. 
These are the sons of Zilpah, whom Laban gave to Leah his daughter, and these she bore to Jacob, even sixteen souls. 
And the sons of Rachel, the wife of Jacob: Joseph, and Benjamin. 
And to Joseph in the land of Egypt were born Manasseh and Ephraim, whom Aseneth, the daughter of Poti-phera, priest of On, bore to him. {And there were sons born to Manasseh, whom the Syrian concubine bore to him, [even] Machir. An 
And the sons of Benjamin: Bela, and Becher, and Ashbel. And the sons of Bela were Gera, and Naaman, and Anchis, and Rosh, and Mamphim. And Gera begot Ard. 
These are the sons of Rachel, who were born to Jacob; all the souls were eighteen (LXX). 
And the sons of Dan: Hushim. 
And the sons of Naphtali: Jahzeel, and Guni, and Jezer, and Shillem. 
These are the sons of Bilhah, whom Laban gave to Rachel his daughter, and these she bore to Jacob; all the souls were seven. 
All the souls who came with Jacob into Egypt, that came out of his loins, besides the wives of the sons of Jacob, all the souls were sixty-six. 
And the sons of Joseph, who were born to him in Egypt, were nine (LXX)souls. All the souls of the house of Jacob who came into Egypt, were seventy-five (LXX/NT). 
And he sent Judah before him to Joseph, to show the way before him to Goshen, and they came into the land of Goshen. 
And Joseph made his chariot ready, and went up to meet Israel his father, to Goshen. And he presented himself to him, and fell on his neck, and wept on his neck a good while. 
And Israel said to Joseph, Now let me die, since I have seen thy face, that thou are yet alive. 
And Joseph said to his brothers, and to his father's house, I will go up, and tell Pharaoh, and will say to him, My brothers, and my father's house, who were in the land of Canaan, have come to me. 
And the men are shepherds, for they have been keepers of cattle, and they have brought their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have. 
And it shall come to pass, when Pharaoh shall call you, and shall say, What is your occupation? 
that ye shall say, Thy servants have been keepers of cattle from our youth even until now, both we, and our fathers, that ye may dwell in the land of Goshen, for every shepherd is an abomination to the Egyptians.
