22 Men who have purified your souls in obedience of the truth through the Spirit for non-hypocritical brotherly love. Ye should love each other fervently from a pure heart,
23 begotten again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the word of God that lives and remains into the age.
24 Because all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as a flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower of it falls away,
25 but the word of Lord endures into the age. And this is the word, the good-news that was preached to you.
5 I wait for LORD. My soul waits, and in his word do I hope,
6 my soul for LORD more than watchmen for the morning, watchmen for the morning.
9 The Lord is not slack about his promise, as some regard slackness, but is patient toward us, not wanting any to perish, but all to go forward to repentance.
1 I waited patiently for LORD, and he inclined to me, and heard my cry.
2 He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and he set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
3 And he has put a new song in my mouth, even praise to our God. Many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in LORD.
4 Blessed is the man who makes LORD his trust, and respects not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.
5 Many, O LORD my God, are the wonderful works which thou have done, and thy thoughts which are toward us. They cannot be set in order to thee. If I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.
6 Sacrifice and offering thou did not desire, but a body thou have prepared for me (LXX/NT). Whole burnt-offering and sacrifice for sin thou did not require.
7 Then I said, Lo, I have come. In the volume of a book it is written of me.
8 I delight to do thy will, O my God. Yea, thy law is within my heart.
9 I have proclaimed glad tidings of righteousness in the great assembly. Lo, I will not refrain my lips. O LORD, thou know.
10 I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart. I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation. I have not concealed thy loving kindness and thy truth from the great assembly.
11 Withhold thou not thy tender mercies from me, O LORD. Let thy loving kindness and thy truth continually preserve me,
12 for innumerable evils have encompassed me around. My iniquities have overtaken me, so that I am not able to look up. They are more than the hairs of my head, and my heart has failed me.
13 Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me. Make haste to help me, O LORD.
14 Let them be put to shame and confounded together who seek after my soul to destroy it. Let them be turned backward and brought to dishonor who delight in my hurt.
20 Our soul has waited for LORD. He is our help and our shield.
21 For our heart shall rejoice in him because we have trusted in his holy name.
22 Let thy loving kindness, O LORD, be upon us, according as we have hoped in thee.
13 I believe that I shall see the goodness of LORD in the land of the living.
14 Wait for LORD. Be strong, and let thy heart take courage. Yea, wait thou for LORD.
1 Then the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins, who, having taken their lamps, went forth to the bridegroom's gathering.
2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish,
3 foolish women, who, having taken their lamps, took no olive oil with them.
4 But the wise took olive oil in their vessels with their lamps.
5 Now while the bridegroom delayed, they all slumbered and slept.
6 But at midnight a shout occurred, Behold, the bridegroom comes! Go ye forth for his gathering.
7 Then all those virgins were roused, and put their lamps in order.
8 And the foolish said to the wise, Give us from your olive oil, because our lamps are going out.
9 But the wise answered, saying, Perhaps there may not be enough for us and you. But go ye rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.
10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came. And the prepared entered in with him for the wedding festivities, and the door was shut.
11 But afterward the other virgins also came, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
12 But having answered, he said, Truly I say to you, I know you not.
13 Watch therefore, because ye know not the day nor the hour in which the son of man comes.
31 But those who wait for LORD shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings as eagles. They shall run, and not be weary. They shall walk, and not faint.
18 And therefore LORD will wait, that he may be gracious to you. And therefore he will be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you. For LORD is a God of justice. Blessed are all those who wait for him.
3 And not only so, but we also take pride in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance,
4 and perseverance, character, and character, hope.
34 Wait for LORD, and keep his way, and he will exalt thee to inherit the land. When sinners are cut off, thou shall see it.
5 My soul, wait thou in silence for God only, for my expectation is from him.
14 Wait for LORD. Be strong, and let thy heart take courage. Yea, wait thou for LORD.
11 Behold, we regard those who endured, blessed. Ye have heard of the fortitude of Job, and have seen the outcome of Lord, that he is very compassionate and merciful.
5 Trust in LORD with all thy heart, and lean not upon thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he will direct thy paths.
7 Be patient therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient for it, until it receives the early and latter rain.
8 Be ye also patient. Establish your hearts, because the coming of the Lord has approached.
11 being strengthened in every ability, according to the dominion of his glory, for all perseverance and longsuffering with joy.
1 LORD is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? LORD is the strength of my life, of whom shall I be afraid?
2 When evil-doers came upon me to eat up my flesh, [even] my adversaries and my foes, they stumbled and fell.
3 Though an army should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear. Though war should rise against me, even then I will be confident.
4 One thing I have asked of LORD, that I will seek after, that I may dwell in the house of LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of LORD, and to inquire in his temple.
5 For in the day of trouble he will hide me in his pavilion. In the covert of his tabernacle he will hide me. He will lift me up upon a rock.
6 And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies round about me. And I will offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy. I will sing, yea, I will sing praises to LORD.
7 Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice. Have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
8 My heart said to thee, I have sought thy face. O LORD, I will seek thy face.
9 Hide not thy face from me. Put not thy servant away in anger. Thou have been my help. Cast me not off, nor forsake me, O God of my salvation.
10 When my father and my mother forsake me, then LORD will take me up.
11 Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of my enemies.
12 Deliver me not over to the will of my adversaries. For FALSE witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.
13 I believe that I shall see the goodness of LORD in the land of the living.
14 Wait for LORD. Be strong, and let thy heart take courage. Yea, wait thou for LORD.
