18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
11 The rich man' wealth is his strong city, and as an high wall in his own conceit.
9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with modesty and sobriety; not with braided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
10 But (which becomes women professing godliness) with good works.
6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.
7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
16 Better is little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble therewith.
10 He that loves silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loves abundance with increase: this is also vanity.
9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
15 And he said to them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man' life consists not in the abundance of the things which he possesses.
32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.
1 A GOOD name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favor rather than silver and gold.
19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust does corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust does corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
21 Jesus said to him, If you will be perfect, go and sell that you have, and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
5 Mortify therefore your members which are on the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not high minded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy;
5 Will you set your eyes on that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven.
4 Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivers from death.
26 He covets greedily all the day long: but the righteous gives and spares not.
15 As he came forth of his mother' womb, naked shall he return to go as he came, and shall take nothing of his labor, which he may carry away in his hand.
8 Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me:
21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as you have: for he has said, I will never leave you, nor forsake you.
16 How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver!
