8 But now, O LORD, you are our father; we are the clay, and you our potter; and we all are the work of your hand.
20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honor, and some to dishonor.
21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel to honor, sanctified, and meet for the master' use, and prepared to every good work.
9 Woe to him that strives with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashions it, What make you? or your work, He has no hands?
7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
20 No but, O man, who are you that reply against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why have you made me thus?
21 Has not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel to honor, and another to dishonor?
23 Burning lips and a wicked heart are like a potsherd covered with silver dross.
1 The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,
2 Arise, and go down to the potter' house, and there I will cause you to hear my words.
3 Then I went down to the potter' house, and, behold, he worked a work on the wheels.
4 And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.
5 Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
6 O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? said the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter' hand, so are you in my hand, O house of Israel.
2 The precious sons of Zion, comparable to fine gold, how are they esteemed as earthen pitchers, the work of the hands of the potter!
8 Your hands have made me and fashioned me together round about; yet you do destroy me.
9 Remember, I beseech you, that you have made me as the clay; and will you bring me into dust again?
34 Howl, you shepherds, and cry; and wallow yourselves in the ashes, you principal of the flock: for the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions are accomplished; and you shall fall like a pleasant vessel.
16 Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter' clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it, He had no understanding?
