A Paixão de Cristo
14 Since then the children are sharers in flesh and blood, he also himself in like manner partook of the same; that through death he might bring to nought him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; 15 and might deliver all them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
3 He was despised, and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and as one from whom men hide their face he was despised; and we esteemed him not.
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows; yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
8 But God commendeth his own love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
55 Now the chief priests and the whole council sought witness against Jesus to put him to death; and found it not.
45 For the Son of man also came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
