1 Then Eliashib, the chief priest, got up with his brothers the priests, and took in hand the building of the sheep doorway; they made it holy and put its doors in position; as far as the tower of Hammeah they made it holy, even to the tower of Hananel.

2 And by his side the men of Jericho were building. And after them, Zaccur, the son of Imri.

3 The sons of Hassenaah were the builders of the fish doorway; they put its boards in place and put up its doors, with their locks and rods.

4 By their side Meremoth, the son of Uriah, the son of Hakkoz, was making good the walls. Then Meshullam, the son of Berechiah, the son of Meshezabel; and by him, Zadok, the son of Baana.

5 Near them, the Tekoites were at work; but their chiefs did not put their necks to the work of their Lord.

6 Joiada, the son of Paseah, and Meshullam, the son of Besodeiah, made good the old doorway; they put its boards in place and put up its doors, with their locks and rods.

7 By their side were working Melatiah the Gibeonite and Jadon the Meronothite, the men of Gibeon and of Mizpah from the seat of the ruler across the river.

8 Near them was working Uzziel, the son of Harhaiah, the gold-worker. And by him was Hananiah, one of the perfume-makers, building up Jerusalem as far as the wide wall.

9 Near them was working Rephaiah, the son of Hur, the ruler of half Jerusalem.

10 By his side was Jedaiah, the son of Harumaph, opposite his house. And by him was Hattush, the son of Hashabneiah.

11 Malchijah, the son of Harim, and Hasshub, the son of Pahath-moab, were working on another part, and the tower of the ovens.

12 Near them was Shallum, the son of Hallohesh, the ruler of half Jerusalem, with his daughters.

13 Hanun and the people of Zanoah were working on the doorway of the valley; they put it up and put up its doors, with their locks and rods, and a thousand cubits of wall as far as the doorway where the waste material was placed.

14 And Malchijah, the son of Rechab, the ruler of the division of Beth-haccherem, made good the doorway of the waste, building it up and putting up its doors, with their locks and rods.

18 After him were working their brothers, Bavvai, the son of Henadad, ruler of half the division of Keilah.

19 And by his side was working Ezer, the son of Jeshua, the ruler of Mizpah, making good another part opposite the way up to the store of arms at the turning of the wall.

20 After him Baruch, the son of Zabbai, was hard at work on another part, from the turning of the wall to the door of the house of Eliashib, the chief priest.

21 After him Meremoth, the son of Uriah, the son of Hakkoz, was working on another part, from the door of the house of Eliashib as far as the end of his house.

22 After him were working the priests, the men of the lowland.

23 After them came Benjamin and Hasshub, opposite their house. After them Azariah, the son of Maaseiah, the son of Ananiah, made good the wall by the house where he himself was living.

24 After him Binnui, the son of Henadad, was working on another part, from the house of Azariah as far as the turning of the wall and the angle.

25 Palal, the son of Uzai, made good the wall opposite the angle and the tower which comes out from the higher part of the king's house, by the open space of the watch. After him was Pedaiah, the son of Parosh.

26 (Now the Nethinim were living in the Ophel, as far as the place facing the water doorway to the east, and the tower which comes out.)

27 After him the Tekoites were making good another part, opposite the great tower which comes out, and up to the wall of the Ophel.

28 Further on, past the horse doorway, the priests were at work, every one opposite his house.

29 After them Zadok, the son of Immer, was working opposite his house. And after him Shemaiah, the son of Shecaniah, the keeper of the east door.

30 After him Hananiah, the son of Shelemiah, and Hanun, the sixth son of Zalaph, were making good another part. After him Meshullam, the son of Berechiah, made good the wall opposite his room.

31 After him Malchijah, one of the gold-workers to the Nethinim and the traders, made good the wall opposite the doorway of Hammiphkad and as far as the way up to the angle.

32 And between the way up to the angle and the sheep door, the gold-workers and the traders made good the wall.

4 Meremote, filho de Urias, neto de Coz, fez os reparos do trecho seguinte. Ao lado dele Mesulão, filho de Berequias, neto de Mesezabel, fez os reparos, e ao lado dele Zadoque, filho de Baaná, também fez os reparos.

5 O trecho seguinte foi reparado pelos homens de Tecoa, mas os nobres dessa cidade não quiseram se juntar ao serviço, rejeitando a orientação de seus supervisores.

6 A porta Jesaná foi consertada por Joiada, filho de Paséia, e por Mesulão, filho de Besodias. Eles puseram as vigas e colocaram as portas, os ferrolhos e as trancas no lugar.

7 No trecho seguinte, os reparos foram feitos por homens de Gibeom e de Mispá, Melatias de Gibeom e Jadom de Meronote, locais que estavam sob a autoridade do governador da província do Trans-Eufrates.

8 Uziel, filho de Haraías, um dos ourives, fez os reparos do trecho seguinte; e Hananias, um dos perfumistas, fez os reparos ao seu lado. Eles resconstruíram Jerusalém até o muro Largo.

9 Refaías, filho de Hur, governador da metade do distrito de Jerusalém, fez os reparos do trecho seguinte.

10 Ao seu lado, Jedaías, filho de Harumafe, fez os reparos em frente da sua casa, e Hatus, filho de Hasabnéias, fez os reparos ao lado dele.

11 Malquias, filho de Harim, e Hassube, filho de Paate-Moabe, repararam outro trecho e a torre dos Fornos.

12 Salum, filho de Haloés, governador da outra metade do distrito de Jerusalém, fez os reparos do trecho seguinte com a ajuda de suas filhas.

13 A porta do Vale foi reparada por Hanum e pelos moradores de Zanoa. Eles a reconstruíram e colocaram as portas, os ferrolhos e as trancas no lugar. Também repararam quatrocentos e cinqüenta metros do muro, até a porta do Esterco.

14 A porta do Esterco foi reparada por Malquias, filho de Recabe, governador do distrito de Bete-Haquerém. Ele a reconstruiu e colocou as portas, os ferrolhos e as trancas no lugar.

15 A porta da Fonte foi reparada por Salum, filho de Col-Hozé, governador do distrito de Mispá. Ele a reconstruiu, a cobriu e colocou as portas, os ferrolhos e as trancas no lugar. Também fez os reparos do muro do tanque de Siloé, junto ao jardim do Rei, até aos degraus que descem da cidade de Davi.

16 Além dele, Neemias, filho de Azbuque, governador de meio distrito de Bete-Zur, fez os reparos até em frente dos túmulos de Davi, até o açude artificial e a casa dos soldados.

17 Depois dele os reparos foram feitos pelos levitas que estavam sob a responsabilidade de Reum, filho de Bani. Junto a ele Hasabias, governador de meio distrito de Queila, fez os reparos em seu distrito.

18 Depois dele os reparos foram feitos pelos seus compatriotas que estavam sob a responsabilidade de Binui, filho de Henadade, governador de meio distrito de Queila.

19 Ao seu lado Ézer, filho de Jesua, governador de Mispá, reconstruiu outro trecho, começando de um ponto que fica em frente da subida para a casa das armas, indo até à esquina do muro.

20 Depois dele Baruque, filho de Zabai, reparou com zelo outro trecho, desde a esquina do muro até à entrada da casa do sumo sacerdote Eliasibe.

21 Em seguida Meremote, filho de Urias, neto de Coz, reparou outro trecho, desde a entrada da casa de Eliasibe até o fim dela.

22 Os demais reparos foram feitos pelos sacerdotes das redondezas.

23 Depois, Benjamim e Hassube fizeram os reparos em frente da sua casa; e ao lado deles Azarias, filho de Maaséias, filho de Ananias, fez os reparos ao lado de sua casa.

24 Depois dele, Binui, filho de Henadade, reparou outro trecho, desde a casa de Azarias até à esquina do muro,

25 e Palal, filho de Uzai, trabalhou em frente da esquina do muro e da torre que sai do palácio superior, perto do pátio da guarda. Junto a ele, Pedaías, filho de Parós,

26 e os servos do templo que viviam na colina de Ofel fizeram os reparos até em frente da porta das Águas, na direção do leste e da torre que ali sobressaía.

27 Depois dele os homens de Tecoa repararam outro trecho, desde a grande torre até o muro de Ofel.

28 Acima da porta dos Cavalos, os sacerdotes fizeram os reparos, cada um em frente da sua própria casa.

29 Depois deles Zadoque, filho de Imer, fez os reparos em frente da sua casa. Ao seu lado Semaías, filho de Secanias, o guarda da porta Oriental, fez os reparos.

30 Depois, Hananias, filho de Selemias, e Hanum, filho de Zalafe, fez os reparos do outro trecho. Ao seu lado, Mesulão, filho de Berequias, fez os reparos em frente da sua moradia.

31 Depois dele, Malquias, um ourives, fez os reparos do muro até à casa dos servos do templo e dos comerciantes, em frente à porta da Inspeção, até o posto de vigia da esquina;

32 e entre a sala acima da esquina e a porta das Ovelhas os ourives e os comerciantes fizeram os reparos.
