4 O you who are false to God, do you not see that the friends of this world are not God's friends? Every man desiring to be a friend of this world makes himself a hater of God.

16 But Ruth said, Give up requesting me to go away from you, or to go back without you: for where you go I will go; and where you take your rest I will take my rest; your people will be my people, and your God my God.

17 Wherever death comes to you, death will come to me, and there will be my last resting-place; the Lord do so to me and more if we are parted by anything but death.

1 Now after David's talk with Saul was ended, the soul of Jonathan was joined with the soul of David, and David became as dear to him as his very life.

2 And that day Saul took David and would not let him go back to his father's house.

3 Then Jonathan and David made an agreement together, because of Jonathan's love for David.

10 And if one has a fall, the other will give him a hand; but unhappy is the man who is by himself, because he has no helper.

10 Be kind to one another with a brother's love, putting others before yourselves in honour;

24 There are friends who may be a man's destruction, but there is a lover who keeps nearer than a brother.

20 Go with wise men and be wise: but he who keeps company with the foolish will be broken.

17 Iron makes iron sharp; so a man makes sharp his friend.

11 For I have a strong desire to see you, and to give you some grace of the spirit, so that you may be made strong;

12 That is to say, that all of us may be comforted together by the faith which is in you and in me.

9 Oil and perfume make glad the heart, and the wise suggestion of a friend is sweet to the soul.

33 Do not be tricked by false words: evil company does damage to good behaviour.

11 My loved ones, if God had such love for us, it is right for us to have love for one another.

12 No man has ever seen God: if we have love for one another, God is in us and his love is made complete in us:

9 He who keeps a sin covered is looking for love; but he who keeps on talking of a thing makes division between friends.

28 A man of twisted purposes is a cause of fighting everywhere: and he who says evil secretly makes trouble between friends.

7 My loved ones, let us have love for one another: because love is of God, and everyone who has love is a child of God and has knowledge of God.

1 And David said, Is there still anyone of Saul's family living, so that I may be a friend to him, because of Jonathan?

13 Greater love has no man than this, that a man gives up his life for his friends.

9 Oil and perfume make glad the heart, and the wise suggestion of a friend is sweet to the soul.

10 Do not give up your friend and your father's friend; and do not go into your brother's house in the day of your trouble: better is a neighbour who is near than a brother far off.

17 A friend is loving at all times, and becomes a brother in times of trouble.

5 Better is open protest than love kept secret.

6 The wounds of a friend are given in good faith, but the kisses of a hater are false.

19 Give honour to your father and your mother: and, Have love for your neighbour as for yourself.

9 Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their work.

10 And if one has a fall, the other will give him a hand; but unhappy is the man who is by himself, because he has no helper.

12 And two attacked by one would be safe, and three cords twisted together are not quickly broken.

15 No longer do I give you the name of servants; because a servant is without knowledge of what his master is doing: I give you the name of friends, because I have given you knowledge of all the things which my Father has said to me.

14 He whose heart is shut against his friend has given up the fear of the Ruler of all.

3 Then Jonathan and David made an agreement together, because of Jonathan's love for David.

24 There are friends who may be a man's destruction, but there is a lover who keeps nearer than a brother.

24 Do not be friends with a man who is given to wrath; do not go in the company of an angry man:

25 For fear of learning his ways and making a net ready for your soul.

17 A friend is loving at all times, and becomes a brother in times of trouble.

1 A Song of the going up. Of David. See how good and how pleasing it is for brothers to be living together in harmony!

17 Iron makes iron sharp; so a man makes sharp his friend.

10 Do not give up your friend and your father's friend; and do not go into your brother's house in the day of your trouble: better is a neighbour who is near than a brother far off.

13 Greater love has no man than this, that a man gives up his life for his friends.

1 A Song of the going up. Of David. See how good and how pleasing it is for brothers to be living together in harmony!

2 It is like oil of great price on the head, flowing down over the face, even Aaron's face: coming down to the edge of his robe;

3 Like the dew of Hermon, which comes down on the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord gave orders for the blessing, even life for ever.

12 This is the law I give you: Have love one for another, even as I have love for you.

33 Do not be tricked by false words: evil company does damage to good behaviour.

6 \68:5\A father to those who have no father, a judge of the widows, is God in his holy place.

21 And this is the word which we have from him, that he who has love for God is to have the same love for his brother.

9 Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their work.
