Iată spiţa neamului lui Esau, adică Edom. 
Esau şi -a luat neveste dintre fetele Canaanului pe: Ada, fata Hetitului Elon, pe Oholibama, fata Anei, fata Hevitului Ţibeon, 
şi pe Basmat, fata lui Ismael, sora lui Nebaiot. - 
Ada a născut lui Esau pe Elifaz; Basmat a născut pe Reuel; 
şi Oholibama a născut pe Ieuş, Iaelam şi Core. Aceştia sînt fiii lui Esau, cari i s'au născut în ţara Canaan. - 
Esau şi -a luat nevestele, fiii şi fiicele, toată lumea din casă, turmele, toate vitele, şi toată averea pe care şi -o agonisise în ţara Canaan, şi s'a dus într'o altă ţară, departe de fratele său Iacov. 
Căci bogăţiile lor erau prea mari ca să poată locui împreună, şi ţinutul în care locuiau ca străini nu le mai putea ajunge din pricina turmelor lor. 
Esau s'a aşezat în muntele Seir. Esau înseamnă Edom. 
Iată spiţa neamului lui Esau, tatăl Edomiţilor, în muntele Seir. 
Iată numele fiilor lui Esau: Elifaz, fiul Adei, nevasta lui Esau; Reuel, fiul Basmatei, nevasta lui Esau. - 
Fiii lui Elifaz au fost: Teman, Omar, Ţefo, Gaetam şi Chenaz. 
Şi Timna era ţiitoarea lui Elifaz, fiul lui Esau; ea a născut lui Elifaz pe Amalec. Aceştia sînt fiii Adei, nevasta lui Esau. 
Iată fiii lui Reuel: Nahat, Zerah, Şama şi Miza. Aceştia sînt fiii Basmatei, nevasta lui Esau. - 
Iată fiii Oholibamei, fata Anei, fata lui Ţibeon, nevasta lui Esau: Ea a născut lui Esau pe Ieuş, Iaelam şi Core. 
Iată căpeteniile seminţiilor ieşite din fiii lui Esau. -Iată fiii lui Elifaz, întîiul născut al lui Esau: căpetenia Teman, căpetenia Omar, căpetenia Ţefo, căpetenia Chenaz, 
căpetenia Core, căpetenia Gaetam, căpetenia Amalec. Aceştia sînt căpeteniile ieşite din Elifaz, în ţara Edom. Aceştia sînt fiii Adei. - 
Iată fiii lui Reuel, fiul lui Esau: căpetenia Nahat, căpetenia Zerah, căpetenia Şama, căpetenia Miza. Aceştia sînt căpeteniile ieşite din Reuel, în ţara Edom. Aceştia sînt fiii Basmatei, nevasta lui Esau. 
Iată fiii Oholibamei, nevasta lui Esau: căpetenia Ieuş, căpetenia Iaelam, căpetenia Core. Aceştia sînt căpeteniile ieşite din Oholibama, fata Anei, nevasta lui Esau. 
Aceştia sînt fiii lui Esau, şi aceştia sînt căpeteniile seminţiilor lor. Esau înseamnă Edom. 
Iată fiii lui Seir, Horitul, vechii locuitori ai ţării: Lotan, Şobal, Ţibeon, Ana, 
Dişon, Eţer şi Dişan. Aceştia sînt căpeteniile Horiţilor, fiii lui Seir, în ţara Edom. - 
Fiii lui Lotan au fost: Hori şi Hemam. Sora lui Lotan a fost Timna. 
Iată fiii lui Şobal: Alvan, Manahat, Ebal, Şefo şi Onam. - 
Iată fiii lui Ţibeon: Aia şi Ana. Ana acesta a găsit izvoarele calde în pustie, cînd păştea măgarii tatălui său Ţibeon. 
Iată fiii lui Ana: Dişon şi Oholibama, fata lui Ana. - 
Iată fiii lui Dişon: Hemdan, Eşban, Itran şi Cheran. - 
Iată fiii lui Eţer: Bilhan, Zaavan şi Acan. - 
Iată fiii lui Dişan: Uţ şi Aran. 
Iată căpeteniile Horiţilor: căpetenia Lotan, căpetenia Şobal, căpetenia Ţibeon, căpetenia Ana, 
căpetenia Dişon, căpetenia Eţer, căpetenia Dişan. Aceştia sînt căpeteniile Horiţilor, căpeteniile pe cari le-au avut în ţara lui Seir. 
Iată împăraţii cari au împărăţit în ţara Edom, înainte de a împărăţi un împărat peste copiii lui Israel. - 
Bela, fiul lui Beor, a împărăţit peste Edom; şi numele cetăţii lui era Dinhaba. - 
Bela a murit; şi în locul lui a împărăţit Iobab, fiul lui Zerah din Boţra. - 
Iobab a murit; şi în locul lui, a împărăţit Huşam, din ţara Temaniţilor. - 
Huşam a murit; şi, în locul lui, a împărăţit Hadad, fiul lui Bedad. El a bătut pe Madian în cîmpia Moabului. Numele cetăţii lui era Avit. 
Hadad a murit; şi, în locul lui, a împărăţit Samla, din Masreca. 
Samla a murit; şi, în locul lui, a împărăţit Saul, din Rehobot pe Rîul. 
Saul a murit; şi, în locul lui a împărăţit Baal-Hanan, fiul lui Acbor. 
Baal-Hanan, fiul lui Acbor, a murit; şi, în locul lui a împărăţit Hadar. Numele cetăţii lui era Pau; şi numele nevestei lui era Mehetabeel, fata lui Matred, fata lui Mezahab. 
Iată numele căpeteniilor ieşite din Esau, după seminţiile lor, după ţinuturile lor, şi după numele lor: căpetenia Timna, căpetenia Alva, căpetenia Ietet, 
căpetenia Oholibama, căpetenia Ela, căpetenia Pinon, 
căpetenia Chenaz, căpetenia Teman, căpetenia Mibţar, 
căpetenia Magdiel, căpetenia Iram. Aceştia sînt căpeteniile lui Edom, după locuinţele lor, în ţara, pe care o aveau. Acesta este Esau, tatăl Edomiţilor. 

Now these are the generations of Esau, that is to say, Edom. 
Esau's wives were women of Canaan: Adah, the daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Oholibamah, the daughter of Anah, the daughter of Zibeon the Hivite, 
And Basemath, Ishmael's daughter, the sister of Nebaioth. 
Adah had a son Eliphaz; and Basemath was the mother of Reuel; 
Oholibamah was the mother of Jeush, Jalam, and Korah; these are the sons of Esau, whose birth took place in the land of Canaan. 
Esau took his wives and his sons and his daughters, and all the people of his house, and his beasts and his cattle and all his goods which he had got together in the land of Canaan, and went into the land of Seir, away from his brother Jacob. 
For their wealth was so great that the land was not wide enough for the two of them and all their cattle. 
So Esau made his living-place in the hill-country of Seir (Esau is Edom). 
And these are the generations of Esau, the father of the Edomites in the hill-country of Seir: 
These are the names of Esau's sons: Eliphaz, the son of Esau's wife Adah, and Reuel, the son of Esau's wife Basemath. 
The sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam, and Kenaz. 
And Eliphaz, the son of Esau, had connection with a woman named Timna, who gave birth to Amalek: all these were the children of Esau's wife Adah. 
And these are the sons of Reuel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah: they were the children of Esau's wife Basemath. 
And these are the sons of Esau's wife Oholibamah, the daughter of Anah, the daughter of Zibeon: she was the mother of Jeush, Jalam, and Korah. 
These were the chiefs among the sons of Esau: the sons of Eliphaz, Esau's first son: Teman, Omar, Zepho, Kenaz, 
Korah, Gatam, Amalek: all these were chiefs in the land of Edom, the offspring of Eliphaz, the seed of Adah. 
And these are the sons of Esau's son Reuel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, Mizzah: these were the chiefs of Reuel in the land of Edom, the children of Esau's wife Basemath. 
And these are the sons of Esau's wife Oholibamah: Jeush, Jalam, and Korah: these were the chiefs who came from Esau's wife Oholibamah, daughter of Anah. 
These were the sons of Esau (that is, Edom), and these were their chiefs. 
These are the sons of Seir the Horite who were living in that country; Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah, 
Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan: these are the chiefs of the Horites, offspring of Seir in the land of Edom. 
The children of Lotan were Hori and Hemam; Lotan's sister was Timna. 
And these are the children of Shobal: Alvan, Manahath, Ebal, Shepho, and Onam. 
And these are the children of Zibeon: Aiah and Anah; that same Anah who made the discovery of the water-springs in the waste land, when he was looking after the asses of his father Zibeon. 
And these are the children of Anah: Dishon and Oholibamah his daughter. 
These are the children of Dishon: Hemdan, Eshban, Ithran, and Keran. 
These are the children of Ezer: Bilhan, Zaavan, and Akan. 
These are the children of Dishan: Uz and Aran. 
These were the Horite chiefs: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah, 
Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan. Such were the Horite chiefs in their order in the land of Seir. 
And these are the kings who were ruling in the land of Edom before there was any king over the children of Israel. 
Bela, son of Beor, was king in Edom, and the name of his chief town was Dinhabah. 
At his death, Jobab, son of Zerah of Bozrah, became king in his place. 
And at the death of Jobab, Husham, from the country of the Temanites, became king in his place. 
And at the death of Husham, Hadad, son of Bedad, who overcame the Midianites in the field of Moab, became king; his chief town was named Avith. 
And at the death of Hadad, Samlah of Masrekah became king. 
And at the death of Samlah, Shaul of Rehoboth by the River became king in his place. 
And at the death of Shaul, Baal-hanan, son of Achbor, became king. 
And at the death of Baal-hanan, Hadar became king in his place; his chief town was named Pau, and his wife's name was Mehetabel; she was the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Me-zahab. 
These are the names of the chiefs of Esau in the order of their families and their places: Timna, Alvah, Jetheth, 
Oholibamah, Elah, Pinon, 
Kenaz, Teman, Mibzar, 
Magdiel, Iram; these are the Edomite chiefs, in their places in their heritage; this is Esau, the father of the Edomites.
