1 (Către mai marele cîntăreţilor. De cîntat pe instrumente cu coarde. Pe arfa cu opt coarde. Un psalm al lui David.) Doamne, nu mă pedepsi cu mînia Ta, şi nu mă mustra cu urgia Ta.
2 Ai milă de mine, Doamne, căci mă ofilesc! Vindecă-mă, Doamne, căci îmi tremură oasele.
3 Sufletul mi -i îngrozit de tot; şi Tu, Doamne, pînă cînd vei zăbovi să Te înduri de mine?
4 Întoarce-Te, Doamne, izbăveşte-mi sufletul! Mîntuieşte-mă, pentru îndurarea Ta!
5 Căci cel ce moare nu-şi mai aduce aminte de Tine; şi cine Te va lăuda în locuinţa morţilor?
6 Nu mai pot gemînd! În fiecare noapte îmi stropesc aşternutul, şi-mi scald patul în lacrămi.
7 Mi s'a supt faţa de întristare, şi a îmbătrînit din pricina tuturor celor ce mă prigonesc.
8 Depărtaţi-vă dela mine, toţi cei ce faceţi răul! Căci Domnul a auzit glasul plîngerii mele!
9 Domnul îmi ascultă cererile, şi Domnul îmi primeşte rugăciunea!
10 Toţi vrăjmaşii mei vor fi acoperiţi de ruşine, şi cuprinşi de spaimă; într'o clipă vor da înapoi, acoperiţi de ruşine.

2 \6:1\O Lord, do not be bitter with me in your wrath; do not send punishment on me in the heat of your passion.
3 \6:2\Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am wasted away: make me well, for even my bones are troubled.

5 \6:4\Come back, O Lord, make my soul free; O give me salvation because of your mercy.
