13 in whom *ye* also {have trusted}, having heard the word of the truth, the glad tidings of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, ye have been sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,

14 who is {the} earnest of our inheritance to the redemption of the acquired possession to {the} praise of his glory.

13 Und nachdem ihr das Wort der Wahrheit, die gute Botschaft von eurer Rettung, gehört habt und zum Glauben gekommen seid, wurdet auch ihr mit dem versprochenen Heiligen Geist versiegelt.

14 Dieser Geist ist der erste Anteil an unserem künftigen Erbe, der vollkommenen Erlösung, die wir noch erhalten werden und die uns ganz zu Gottes Eigentum macht. Und auch das wird zum Lobpreis seiner Herrlichkeit dienen.
