16 Go, gather together all the Jews that are found in Shushan, and fast for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise, and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law; and if I perish, I perish.

16 Vai ajuntar todos os judeus que se acham em Susã, e jejuai por mim; não comais nem bebais por três dias nem de noite nem de dia. Da mesma maneira também eu e minhas criadas jejuaremos. Depois irei ter com o rei, ainda que isso não é segundo a lei: se perecer, pereci.
