1 [To the chief Musician. A Psalm of David.] How long, Jehovah, wilt thou forget me for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?

2 How long shall I take counsel in my soul, with sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?

3 Consider, answer me, O Jehovah my God! lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the {sleep of} death;

4 Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him! {lest} mine adversaries be joyful when I am moved.

5 As for me, I have confided in thy loving-kindness; my heart shall be joyful in thy salvation.

6 I will sing unto Jehovah, for he hath dealt bountifully with me.

1 Até quando, Jeová! esquecer-te-ás de mim para sempre? Até quando me ocultarás o teu rosto?

2 Até quando encherei a minha alma de cuidados, Tendo diariamente tristeza no meu coração? Até quando sobre mim se exaltará o meu inimigo?

3 Considera e responde-me, Jeová, Deus meu. Alumia os meus olhos para que não durma eu o sono da morte,

4 A fim de que não diga o meu inimigo: Prevaleci contra ele, E os meus adversários não se alegrem, quando eu for abalado.

5 Mas quanto a mim, confio na tua misericórdia; Regozije-se o meu coração na tua salvação.

6 Cante eu a Jeová, Porque me fez o bem.
