1 [Michtam of David.] Preserve me, O *God: for I trust in thee.
1 [To the chief Musician. {A Psalm} of David, the servant of Jehovah, who spoke to Jehovah the words of this song in the day that Jehovah had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies and out of the hand of Saul. And he said,] I will love thee, O Jehovah, my strength.
2 Jehovah is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my *God, my rock, in whom I will trust; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower.
3 I will call upon Jehovah, who is to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.
1 [To the chief Musician. Of the sons of Korah. On Alamoth. A song.] God is our refuge and strength, a help in distresses, very readily found.
29 The way of Jehovah is strength to the perfect {man}, but destruction to the workers of iniquity.
26 In the fear of Jehovah is strong confidence, and his children shall have a place of refuge.
17 Unto thee, my strength, will I sing psalms; for God is my high fortress, the God of my mercy.
1 [A Prayer of Moses, the man of God.] Lord, *thou* hast been our dwelling-place in all generations.
2 Before the mountains were brought forth, and thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from eternity to eternity thou art *God.
1 [To the chief Musician. A Psalm of David.] In thee, Jehovah, do I trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness.
2 Incline thine ear to me, deliver me speedily; be a strong rock to me, a house of defence to save me.
3 For thou art my rock and my fortress; and, for thy name's sake, thou wilt lead me and guide me.
4 Draw me out of the net that they have hidden for me; for thou art my strength.
5 Into thy hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, Jehovah, {thou} *God of truth.
8 It is better to trust in Jehovah than to put confidence in man;
9 It is better to trust in Jehovah than to put confidence in nobles.
7 How precious is thy loving-kindness, O God! So the sons of men take refuge under the shadow of thy wings.
7 Jehovah is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.
4 For thou hast been a fortress to the poor, a fortress for the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat: for the blast of the terrible ones {has been} as the storm {against} a wall.
9 And Jehovah will be a refuge to the oppressed one, a refuge in times of distress.
10 And they that know thy name will confide in thee; for thou, Jehovah, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.
3 Be to me a rock of habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress.
1 [{A Psalm} of David.] Jehovah is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? Jehovah is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
2 When evil-doers, mine adversaries and mine enemies, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.
3 If a host encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; if war rise against me, in this will I be confident.
5 Upon God alone, O my soul, rest peacefully; for my expectation is from him.
6 He only is my rock and my salvation; my high fortress: I shall not be moved.
7 With God is my salvation and my glory; the rock of my strength, my refuge is in God.
8 Confide in him at all times, ye people; pour out your heart before him: God is our refuge. Selah.
1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I say of Jehovah, My refuge and my fortress; my God, I will confide in him.
3 Surely *he* shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, {and} from the destructive pestilence.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou find refuge: his truth is a shield and buckler.
