17 And when I saw him I fell at the feet of him, as dead; and he placed the right of himself on me, saying: Not do thou fear; I am the first and the last,

18 and the living one; even I was dead, and lo living I am for the ages of the ages; and I have the keys of the death and of the unseen.

17 When I saw him, I fell as dead at his feet. He laid his right hand on me and said: "Do not fear. I am the first and the last:

18 "I am alive! I was dead and, behold, I am alive forever, Amen. I have the keys of death and the grave.
