1 And I saw when opened the lamb one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living ones saying, as a voice of thunder: Come thou and see thou.
2 And I saw, and lo a horse white, and the one sitting on him having a bow; and was given to him a crown, and he came out conquering, and that he might conquer.
3 And when he opened the seal the second, I heard the second living one saying: Come thou.
4 And came out another horse red; and to the one sitting on him it was given to him to take the peace from the earth, and so that each other they might kill; and was given to him a sword great.
5 And when he opened the seal the third I heard the third living one saying: Come thou and see thou. And I saw, and lo a horse black, and the one sitting on him having a balance in the hand of himself.
6 And I heard a voice in midst of the four living ones saying: A small measure of wheat for a denarius; and three small measures of barley for a denarius; and the oil and the wine not thou mayest hurt.
7 And when he opened the seal the fourth, I heard the fourth living one saying: Come and see thou.
8 And I saw, and lo a horse pale, and the one sitting on him, a name to him the Death; and the unseen followed with him; and was given to him authority over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword and with famine and with death, and by the wild beasts of the earth.
9 And when he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those having been killed because of the word of the God, and because of the testimony which they held;
10 and they cried with a voice great, saying: How long, the sovereign the holy one and true one, not thou judgest and avengest the blood of us from those dwelling on the earth?
11 And was given to them a robe white, and it was said to them, that they should rest yet a time, till should be completed also the fellowslaves of them and the brethren of them, those being about to be killed as even they.
12 And I saw when he opened the seal the sixth, and an earthquake great was, and the sun black became as sackcloth of hair, and the moon whole became as blood,
13 and the stars of the heaven fell to the earth, as a figtree casts the untimely figs of her by a wind great being shaken,
14 and the heaven was separated from as a scroll being rolled up, and every mountain and island out of the places of themselves were moved;
15 and the kings of the earth and the great ones and the commanders and the rich ones and the strong ones, and every bondman and every freeman hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains,
16 and they say to the mountains and to the rocks: Fall you on us, and hide you us from face of the one sitting on the throne, and from the wrath of the lamb;
17 because came the day the great of the wrath of him; and who is able to stand?
1 I saw the Lamb open one of the seven seals. And I heard one of the living creatures speak with a voice like thunder. He said: "Come!"
2 I saw a white horse. He who sat on it had a bow. A crown was given to him and he conquered.
3 When he opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say: "Come!"
4 Another horse that was red went out: and power was given to him who sat on it to take peace from the earth. He was given a great sword so that men could kill one another.
5 When he opened the third seal I heard the third beast say: "Come!" I saw a black horse; and he who sat on him had a pair of scales in his hand.
6 I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures say: "A measure quart: U.S. dry. of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see that you do not hurt the oil and the wine."
7 When the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say: "Come!"
8 I looked, and there was a pale horse. The name of the one who sat on him was Death. The grave followed him. Power was given to them over a fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with pestilence, and with the beasts of the earth.
9 When the Lamb opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the persons who were slaughtered because of the word of God, and for the witness they gave.
10 They cried with a loud voice, saying: "How long, O Lord, holy and true, before you judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?"
11 Each of them was given a white robe. They were told that they should rest for a little while. They were to wait until the number of their fellow servants and their brothers, who would be killed, as they were, should be fulfilled.
12 When he opened the sixth seal I saw a great earthquake. The sun became black as sackcloth of hair and the moon became like blood.
13 The stars of the sky fell to the earth, even as a fig tree drops her unripe figs when she is shaken by a mighty wind.
14 The sky was split apart like a scroll when it is rolled together. Every mountain and island was moved from their places.
15 The kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the military commanders, and the mighty men, and every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains.
16 They said to the mountains and rocks: "Fall on us, and hide us from the presence of him who sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:
17 "For the great day of his wrath has come; and who will be able to stand?"
