2 Gud er vår tilflukt og vår styrke, en hjelp i trengsler, funnet såre stor.

3 Derfor frykter vi ikke, om jorden omskiftes, og om fjell rokkes i havets hjerte,

4 om dets bølger bruser og skummer, og fjell bever ved dets overmot. Sela.

5 En strøm - dens bekker gleder Guds stad, den Høiestes hellige bolig.

6 Gud er midt i den, den skal ikke rokkes; Gud hjelper den når morgenen bryter frem.

7 Folkeferd bruste, riker blev rokket; han lot sin røst høre, jorden smeltet.

8 Herren, hærskarenes Gud, er med oss; Jakobs Gud er vår faste borg. Sela.

9 Kom, se Herrens gjerninger, som har gjort ødeleggelse på jorden!

10 Han gjør ende på krigene over hele jorden, bryter buen sønder og hugger spydet av; vognene brenner han op med ild.

11 Hold op og kjenn at jeg er Gud! Jeg er ophøiet iblandt folkene, ophøiet på jorden.

12 Herren, hærskarenes Gud, er med oss; Jakobs Gud er vår faste borg. Sela.

3 \46:2\For this cause we will have no fear, even though the earth is changed, and though the mountains are moved in the heart of the sea;
