10 For they indeed disciplined us for a few days, as seemed best to them, but He [disciplines us ]for [our] good, so that we may partake of His holiness.
11 Now no discipline seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, later it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those having been trained by it.
12 Not that I have already obtained, or have already been made perfect; but I press on, if also I may lay hold of that for which I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus.
13 Brothers, I do not count myself to have laid hold; but one thing[ I do], forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,
14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
15 Therefore, as many as are mature, let us think this way; and if in anything you think otherwise, even this God will reveal to you.
13 Come now, you who say, "Today and tomorrow let us travel to this city, and let us spend a year there, and let us trade and make a profit"-
14 [you] who do not know [what will] happen tomorrow. For what is your life? For it will be a vapor that appears for a little [time], but then also disappears.
15 Instead you ought to say, "If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that."
16 But now you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.
17 Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do [it], to him it is sin.
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old things passed away; behold, all things have become new.
13 Brothers, I do not count myself to have laid hold; but one thing[ I do], forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,
14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
3 Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
14 But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.
15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.
