11 For the saving grace of God has appeared to all men,
12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age,
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 gentleness, self-control-against such things there is no law.
27 But I treat my body roughly, and I bring it into subjection, lest, having preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.
7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
25 And everyone who competes exercises self-control [in] all things. Now they [compete] in order that they may receive a perishable crown, but we [compete] [for ]an imperishable crown.
6 Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.
2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and well pleasing and perfect will of God.
19 So then, my beloved brothers, let every man be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger;
5 But also [for] this very reason, making every effort, provide with your faith virtue, and with virtue knowledge,
6 and with knowledge self-control, and with self-control perseverance, and with perseverance godliness,
7 and with godliness brotherly love, and with brotherly love, love.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual [forces] of evil in the heavenlies.
8 Look to yourselves, lest we should lose those things for which we worked, but that we should receive a full reward.
13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not permit you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation, He will also make the way out, [so as for] you to be able to bear it.
