1 Therefore, brothers, I exhort you through the compassions of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, well pleasing to God, [which is] your reasonable service.
2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and well pleasing and perfect will of God.
36 Therefore if the Son sets you free, you will be truly free.
36 Therefore if the Son sets you free, you will be truly free.
31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who had believed Him, "If you abide in My word, truly you are My disciples.
32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free."
13 "You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt becomes tasteless, with what shall it be salted? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and to be trampled underfoot by men.
11 For it is written: "As I live, says the LORD, every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall confess to God."
12 So then each of us shall give account concerning himself to God.
12 All things are lawful for me, but all things are not profitable. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be mastered by anything.
12 All things are lawful for me, but all things are not profitable. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be mastered by anything.
13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not permit you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation, He will also make the way out, [so as for] you to be able to bear it.
13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not permit you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation, He will also make the way out, [so as for] you to be able to bear it.
9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites,
10 nor covetous, nor thieves, nor drunkards, nor abusive people, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
11 And such were some of you! But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.
11 For the saving grace of God has appeared to all men,
12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age,
7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
1 Stand fast therefore in the freedom in which Christ has made us free, and do not be loaded down again with a yoke of bondage.
18 And do not get drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit,
21 envies, murders, drinking bouts, revelries, and the like; which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
23 gentleness, self-control-against such things there is no law.
3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.
8 If we claim that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
5 For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be [in the likeness] of [His] resurrection;
6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified [with Him], so that the body of sin may be done away with, [that] we should no longer serve sin.
2 that he no longer should live the remaining time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.
3 For we have spent enough of our past lifetime to accomplish the will of the Gentiles-having walked in wantonness, lusts, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries.
4 In regard to these, they are surprised that you do not run with them in the same flood of debauchery, reviling you.
5 They will render an account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.
6 Unto this [end] was the gospel proclaimed also to those who are dead, in order that they might be judged according to men in [the] flesh, but [that] they might live according to God in [the] spirit.
7 Now the end of all things is at hand; therefore be of sound mind and self-controlled in your prayers.
16 Because everything that is in the world-the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life-is not from the Father but is from the world.
11 Likewise you also, consider yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts,
13 nor present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.
19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?
41 Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. Indeed the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak."
23 No longer drink water [only], but use a little wine on account of your stomach, and your frequent illnesses.
34 Jesus answered them, "Most assuredly I say to you, that everyone that practices sin is a slave of sin.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil [one]. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
