20 And he arose, and came to his father. But while he was yet afar off, his father saw him, and was moved with compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him. 21 And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight: I am no more worthy to be called thy son. 22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth quickly the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet: 23 and bring the fatted calf, and kill it, and let us eat, and make merry:
3 Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
4 As arrows in the hand of a mighty man, so are the children of youth.
5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, when they speak with their enemies in the gate.
24 He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.
13 Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.
26 In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.
15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
24 The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him.
12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
7 A just man that walketh in his integrity, blessed are his children after him.
6 Train up a child in the way he should go, and even when he is old he will not depart from it.
