11 Now these were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, examining the scriptures daily, whether these things were so.

6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be upon thine heart: 7 and thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. 8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be for frontlets between thine eyes.

13 Till I come, give heed to reading, to exhortation, to teaching.

130 The opening of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.

3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of the prophecy, and keep the things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

39 Ye search the scriptures, because ye think that in them ye have eternal life; and these are they which bear witness of me;

8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth, but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

16 Every scripture inspired of God is also profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction which is in righteousness: 17 that the man of God may be complete, furnished completely unto every good work.

10 For Ezra had set his heart to seek the law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments.

4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that through patience and through comfort of the scriptures we might have hope.

97 Oh how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day.

98 Thy commandments make me wiser than mine enemies; for they are ever with me.

99 I have more understanding than all my teachers; for thy testimonies are my meditation.

8 And they read in the book, in the law of God, distinctly; and they gave the sense, so that they understood the reading.

1 My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and lay up my commandments with thee; 2 So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding; 3 Yea, if thou cry after discernment, and lift up thy voice for understanding; 4 If thou seek her as silver, and search for her as for hid treasures; 5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. 6 For the LORD giveth wisdom; out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding:

105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and light unto my path,

24 Jesus said unto them, Is it not for this cause that ye err, that ye know not the scriptures, nor the power of God?

9 Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.

10 With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.

11 Thy word have I laid up in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
