24 Whosoeuer then heareth of mee these words, and doeth the same, I will liken him to a wise man, which hath builded his house on a rock:

10 The beginning of wisedome is the feare of the Lord, and the knowledge of holy things, is vnderstanding.

10 And so all that generation was gathered vnto their fathers, and another generation arose after them, which neither knewe the Lord, nor yet the works, which he had done for Israel.

13 Take holde of instruction, and leaue not: keepe her, for shee is thy life. 14 Enter not into the way of the wicked, and walke not in the way of euill men.

16 For the whole Scripture is giuen by inspiration of God, and is profitable to teache, to conuince, to correct, and to instruct in righteousnesse, 17 That the man of God may be absolute, being made perfect vnto all good workes.

17 The Elders that rule well, let them be had in double honour, specially they which labour in the worde and doctrine, 18 For the Scripture sayeth, Thou shalt not mousell the mouth of the oxe that treadeth out the corne: and, The labourer is worthie of his wages.

8 My sonne, heare thy fathers instruction, and forsake not thy mothers teaching. 9 For they shalbe a comely ornament vnto thine head, and as chaines for thy necke.

20 My sonne, keepe thy fathers commandement, and forsake not thy mothers instruction. 21 Binde them alway vpon thine heart, and tye them about thy necke. 22 It shall leade thee, when thou walkest: it shall watch for thee, when thou sleepest, and when thou wakest, it shall talke with thee. 23 For the commandement is a lanterne, and instruction a light: and corrections for instruction are the way of life,

16 Let the worde of Christ dwell in you plenteously in all wisdome, teaching and admonishing your owne selues, in Psalmes, and hymnes, and spirituall songs, singing with a grace in your hearts to the Lord.

4 For whatsoeuer things are written aforetime, are writte for our learning, that we through patience, and comfort of the Scriptures might haue hope.

1 A Psalme to give instruction committed to Asaph. Heare my doctrine, O my people: incline your eares vnto the wordes of my mouth. 2 I will open my mouth in a parable: I will declare high sentences of olde. 3 Which we haue heard and knowen, and our fathers haue tolde vs. 4 Wee will not hide them from their children but to the generation to come we wil shewe the praises of the Lord his power also, and his wonderful woorkes that he hath done:

23 Keepe thine heart with all diligence: for thereout commeth life. 24 Put away from thee a froward mouth, and put wicked lippes farre from thee. 25 Let thine eyes beholde the right, and let thine eyelids direct thy way before thee. 26 Ponder the path of thy feete, and let all thy waies be ordred aright. 27 Turne not to the right hande, nor to the left, but remooue thy foote from euill.

14 The instruction of a wise man is as the welspring of life, to turne away from the snares of death.

16 Stay prophane, and vaine babblings: for they shall encrease vnto more vngodlinesse. 17 And their worde shall fret as a canker: of which sort is Hymeneus and Philetus,

1 The Parables of Salomon the sonne of Dauid King of Israel, 2 To knowe wisdome, and instruction, to vnderstand ye wordes of knowledge, 3 To receiue instruction to do wisely, by iustice and iudgement and equitie, 4 To giue vnto the simple, sharpenesse of wit, and to the childe knowledge and discretion. 5 A wise man shall heare and increase in learning, and a man of vnderstanding shall attayne vnto wise counsels, 6 To vnderstand a parable, and the interpretation, the wordes of ye wise, and their darke sayings. 7 The feare of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fooles despise wisedome and instruction.

5 Get wisedom: get vnderstading: forget not, neither decline from the woordes of my mouth. 6 Forsake her not, and shee shall keepe thee: loue her and shee shall preserue thee. 7 Wisedome is the beginning: get wisedome therefore: and aboue all thy possession get vnderstanding. 8 Exalt her, and she shall exalt thee: she shall bring thee to honour, if thou embrace her.

5 And thou shalt loue the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soule, and with all thy might. 6 And these wordes which I commaund thee this day, shalbe in thine heart. 7 And thou shalt rehearse them continually vnto thy children, and shalt talke of them when thou tariest in thine house, and as thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest downe, and when thou risest vp:

9 Whosoeuer transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that continueth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Sonne.

14 Nowe when halfe the feast was done, Iesus went vp into the Temple and taught. 15 And the Iewes marueiled, saving, Howe knoweth this man the Scriptures, seeing that hee neuer learned! 16 Iesus answered them, and saide, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. 17 If any man will doe his will, he shall knowe of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speake of my selfe. 18 Hee that speaketh of himselfe, seeketh his owne glorie: but hee that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no vnrighteousnes is in him.
