1 The Parables of Salomon the sonne of Dauid King of Israel, 2 To knowe wisdome, and instruction, to vnderstand ye wordes of knowledge, 3 To receiue instruction to do wisely, by iustice and iudgement and equitie, 4 To giue vnto the simple, sharpenesse of wit, and to the childe knowledge and discretion.
11 A childe also is knowen by his doings, whether his worke be pure and right.
5 For thou art mine hope, O Lord God, euen my trust from my youth.
30 Euen the yong men shall faint, and be wearie, and the yong men shall stumble and fall. 31 But they that waite vpon the Lord, shall renue their strength: they shall lift vp the wings as the eagles: they shall runne, and not be wearie, and they shall walke and not faint.
6 Exhort yong men likewise, that they bee sober minded.
7 Onely be thou strong, and of a most valiant courage, that thou mayest obserue and doe according to all the Lawe which Moses my seruant hath commanded thee: thou shalt not turne away from it to the right hande, nor to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoeuer thou goest. 8 Let not this booke of the Law depart out of thy mouth, but meditate therin day and night, that thou mayest obserue and doe according to all that is written therein: for then shalt thou make thy way prosperous, and then shalt thou haue good successe. 9 Haue not I commanded thee, saying, Be strong and of a good courage, feare not, nor be discouraged? for I the Lord thy God will be with thee, whithersoeuer thou goest.
10 Therefore take away griefe out of thine heart, and cause euil to depart from thy flesh: for childehood and youth are vanitie.
12 Yong men and maidens, also olde men and children: 13 Let them prayse the Name of the Lord: for his Name onely is to be exalted, and his prayse aboue the earth and the heauens.
9 BETH. Wherewith shall a yong man redresse his waie? in taking heede thereto according to thy woorde.
17 As for these foure children, God gaue them knowledge, and vnderstanding in al learning and wisedome: also he gaue Daniel vnderstanding of all visions and dreames. 18 Nowe when the time was expired, that the King had appoynted to bring them in, the chiefe of the Eunuches brought them before Nebuchad-nezzar. 19 And the King communed with them: and among them al was found none like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: therefore stoode they before the king.
12 Let no man despise thy youth, but be vnto them that beleeue, an ensample, in worde, in conuersation, in loue, in spirit, in faith, and in purenesse.
13 Better is a poore and wise childe, then an olde and foolish King, which will no more be admonished.
1 Remember nowe thy Creator in the daies of thy youth, whiles the euill daies come not, nor the yeeres approche, wherein thou shalt say, I haue no pleasure in them:
1 Remember nowe thy Creator in the daies of thy youth, whiles the euill daies come not, nor the yeeres approche, wherein thou shalt say, I haue no pleasure in them: 2 Whiles the sunne is not darke, nor ye light, nor the moone, nor the starres, nor the cloudes returne after the raine: 3 When the keepers of ye house shall tremble, and the strong men shall bow them selues, and the grinders shall cease, because they are few, and they waxe darke that looke out by ye windowes:
28 And afterward will I powre out my Spirit vpon all flesh: and your sonnes and your daughters shall prophecie: your olde men shall dreame dreames, and your yong men shall see visions, 29 And also vpon the seruants, and vpon the maydes in those dayes wil I powre my Spirit.
5 Likewise ye yonger, submit your selues vnto the elders, and submit your selues euery man, one to another: decke your selues inwardly in lowlinesse of minde: for God resisteth the proude, and giueth grace to the humble. 6 Humble your selues therefore vnder the mightie hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time.
9 Reioyce, O yong man, in thy youth, and let thine heart cheere thee in the dayes of thy youth: and walke in the waies of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but knowe that for all these things, God wil bring thee to iudgement.
29 The beautie of yong men is their strength, and the glory of the aged is the gray head.
14 I haue written vnto you, fathers, because ye haue knowen him, that is from the beginning. I haue written vnto you, yong men, because ye are strong, and the worde of God abideth in you, and ye haue ouercome that wicked one.
1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. 2 Honour thy father and mother (which is the first commandement with promise) 3 That it may be well with thee, and that thou mayst liue long on earth.
13 So that wee walke honestly, as in the day: not in gluttonie, and drunkennesse, neither in chambering and wantonnes, nor in strife and enuying.
6 Then said I, Oh, Lord God, behold, I can not speake, for I am a childe. 7 But the Lord said vnto me, Say not, I am a childe: for thou shalt goe to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoeuer I command thee, shalt thou speake. 8 Be not afraide of their faces: for I am with thee to deliuer thee, saith the Lord.
27 It is good for a man that he beare the yoke in his youth.
11 I haue hid thy promise in mine heart, that I might not sinne against thee.
11 For I knowe the thoughtes, that I haue thought towards you, saith the Lord, euen the thoughtes of peace, and not of trouble, to giue you an ende, and your hope. 12 Then shall you crie vnto mee, and ye shall go and pray vnto me, and I will heare you, 13 And ye shall seeke mee and finde mee, because ye shall seeke mee with all your heart. 14 And I wil be found of you, saith the Lord, and I will turne away your captiuitie, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places, whither I haue cast you, saith the Lord, and will bring you againe vnto the place, whence I caused you to be caryed away captiue.
19 O thou my sonne, heare, and bee wise, and guide thine heart in the way. 20 Keepe not company with drunkards, nor with gluttons. 21 For the drunkard and the glutton shall bee poore, and the sleeper shalbe clothed with ragges. 22 Obey thy father that hath begotten thee, and despise not thy mother when she is olde.
1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. 2 Honour thy father and mother (which is the first commandement with promise)
