1 A song of degrees. Blessed is euery one that feareth the Lord and walketh in his wayes. 2 When thou eatest the labours of thine hands, thou shalt be blessed, and it shall be well with thee.
10 Who shall finde a vertuous woman? for her price is farre aboue the pearles.
12 Honour thy father and thy mother, that thy dayes may be prolonged vpon the land, which the Lord thy God giueth thee.
24 He that spareth his rodde, hateth his sonne: but he that loueth him, chasteneth him betime.
8 My sonne, heare thy fathers instruction, and forsake not thy mothers teaching. 9 For they shalbe a comely ornament vnto thine head, and as chaines for thy necke.
20 A wise sonne reioyceth the father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother.
9 But take heede to thy selfe, and keepe thy soule diligently, that thou forget not the thinges which thine eyes haue seene, and that they depart not out of thine heart, all the dayes of thy life: but teach them thy sonnes, and thy sonnes sonnes:
4 Loue suffreth long: it is bountifull: loue enuieth not: loue doeth not boast it selfe: it is not puffed vp: 5 It doeth no vncomely thing: it seeketh not her owne things: it is not prouoked to anger: it thinketh not euill: 6 It reioyceth not in iniquitie, but reioyceth in the trueth: 7 It suffreth all things: it beleeueth all things: it hopeth all things: it endureth all things.
6 Teache a childe in the trade of his way, and when he is olde, he shall not depart from it.
1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. 2 Honour thy father and mother (which is the first commandement with promise) 3 That it may be well with thee, and that thou mayst liue long on earth.
25 Strength and honour is her clothing, and in the latter day she shall reioyce. 26 She openeth her mouth with wisdome, and the lawe of grace is in her tongue. 27 She ouerseeth the wayes of her housholde, and eateth not the bread of ydlenes. 28 Her children rise vp, and call her blessed: her husband also shall prayse her, saying, 29 Many daughters haue done vertuously: but thou surmountest them all. 30 Fauour is deceitfull, and beautie is vanitie: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praysed.
3 Beholde, children are the inheritance of the Lord, and the fruite of the wombe his rewarde.
13 As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you, and ye shall be comforted in Ierusalem.
