1 Poi entrò di nuovo in una sinagoga; e quivi era un uomo che avea la mano secca.

2 E l’osservavano per vedere se lo guarirebbe in giorno di sabato, per poterlo accusare.

3 Ed egli disse all’uomo che avea la mano secca: Lèvati là nel mezzo!

4 Poi disse loro: E’ egli lecito, in giorno di sabato, di far del bene o di far del male? di salvare una persona o di ucciderla? Ma quelli tacevano.

5 Allora Gesù, guardatili tutt’intorno con indignazione, contristato per l’induramento del cuor loro, disse all’uomo: Stendi la mano! Egli la stese, e la sua mano tornò sana.

6 E i Farisei, usciti, tennero subito consiglio con gli Erodiani contro di lui, con lo scopo di farlo morire.

7 Poi Gesù co’ suoi discepoli si ritirò verso il mare; e dalla Galilea gran moltitudine lo seguitò;

8 e dalla Giudea e da Gerusalemme e dalla Idumea e da oltre il Giordano e dai dintorni di Tiro e di idone una gran folla, udendo quante cose egli facea, venne a lui.

9 Ed egli disse ai suoi discepoli che gli tenessero sempre pronta una barchetta a motivo della calca, che talora non l’affollasse.

10 Perché egli ne aveva guariti molti; cosicché tutti quelli che aveano qualche flagello gli si precipitavano addosso per toccarlo.

11 E gli spiriti immondi, quando lo vedevano, si gittavano davanti a lui e gridavano: Tu sei il Figliuol di io!

12 Ed egli li sgridava forte, affinché non facessero conoscere chi egli era.

13 Poi Gesù salì sul monte e chiamò a sé quei ch’egli stesso volle, ed essi andarono a lui.

14 E ne costituì dodici per tenerli con sé

15 e per mandarli a predicare con la potestà di cacciare i demoni.

16 Costituì dunque i dodici, cioè: Simone, al quale mise nome Pietro;

17 e Giacomo di Zebedeo e Giovanni fratello di Giacomo, ai quali pose nome Boanerges, che vuol dire figliuoli del tuono;

18 e Andrea e Filippo e Bartolomeo e Matteo e Toma e Giacomo di Alfeo e Taddeo e Simone il Cananeo

19 e Giuda Iscariot quello che poi lo tradì.

20 Poi entrò in una casa, e la moltitudine si adunò di nuovo, talché egli ed i suoi non potevan neppur prender cibo.

21 or i suoi parenti, udito ciò, vennero per impadronirsi di lui, perché dicevano:

22 E’ fuori di sé. E gli scribi, ch’eran discesi da Gerusalemme, dicevano: Egli ha Beelzebub, ed è per l’aiuto del principe dei demoni, ch’ei caccia i demoni.

23 Ma egli, chiamatili a sé, diceva loro in parabole: Come può Satana cacciar Satana?

24 E se un regno è diviso in parti contrarie, quel regno non può durare.

25 E se una casa è divisa in parti contrarie, quella casa non potrà reggere.

26 E se Satana insorge contro se stesso ed è diviso, non può reggere, ma deve finire.

27 Ed anzi niuno può entrar nella casa dell’uomo forte e rapirgli le sue masserizie, se prima non abbia legato l’uomo forte; allora soltanto gli prenderà la casa.

28 In verità io vi dico: Ai figliuoli degli uomini saranno rimessi tutti i peccati e qualunque bestemmia avranno proferita;

29 ma chiunque avrà bestemmiato contro lo Spirito Santo, non ha remissione in eterno, ma è reo d’un peccato eterno.

30 Or egli parlava così perché dicevano: Ha uno spirito immondo.

31 E giunsero sua madre ed i suoi fratelli; e fermatisi fuori, lo mandarono a chiamare.

32 Una moltitudine gli stava seduta attorno, quando gli fu detto: Ecco tua madre, i tuoi fratelli e le tue sorelle là fuori che ti cercano.

33 Ed egli rispose loro: Chi è mia madre? e chi sono i miei fratelli?

34 E guardati in giro coloro che gli sedevano d’intorno, disse: Ecco mia madre e i miei fratelli!

35 Chiunque avrà fatta la volontà di Dio, mi è fratello, sorella e madre.

1 And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there which had a withered hand. 2 And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him. 3 And he saith unto the man which had the withered hand, Stand forth. 4 And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace. 5 And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other. 6 And the Pharisees went forth, and straightway took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him. 7 But Jesus withdrew himself with his disciples to the sea: and a great multitude from Galilee followed him, and from Judæa, 8 And from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea, and from beyond Jordan; and they about Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, when they had heard what great things he did, came unto him. 9 And he spake to his disciples, that a small ship should wait on him because of the multitude, lest they should throng him. 10 For he had healed many; insomuch that they pressed upon him for to touch him, as many as had plagues. 11 And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God. 12 And he straitly charged them that they should not make him known. 13 And he goeth up into a mountain, and calleth unto him whom he would: and they came unto him. 14 And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach, 15 And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils: 16 And Simon he surnamed Peter; 17 And James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and he surnamed them Boanerges, which is, The sons of thunder: 18 And Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Canaanite, 19 And Judas Iscariot, which also betrayed him: and they went into an house. 20 And the multitude cometh together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread. 21 And when his friends heard of it, they went out to lay hold on him: for they said, He is beside himself.

22 And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils. 23 And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan? 24 And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand. 26 And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end. 27 No man can enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house. 28 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: 29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation: 30 Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit.

31 There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without, sent unto him, calling him. 32 And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee. 33 And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren? 34 And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! 35 For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.
