1 Now we who are strong ought to be patient with the weaknesses of those who are not strong and must stop pleasing ourselves.
12 "This is my commandment: that you love one another as I have loved you.
35 For I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink. I was a stranger, and you welcomed me.
36 I was naked, and you clothed me. I was sick, and you took care of me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’
37 "Then the righteous will say to him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and give you something to eat, or thirsty and give you something to drink?
38 When did we see you as a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you?
39 When did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’
40 The king will answer them, ‘Truly I tell you, in that you did it for one of the least important of these my brothers, you did it for me.’
4 Do not be concerned about your own interests, but also be concerned about the interests of others.
13 No one showsgreater love than when he lays down his life for his friends.
35 In every way I showed you that by working hard like this we should help the weak and remember the words that the Lord Jesus himself said,‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’"
36 When he had said this, he knelt down and prayed with all of them.
37 All of them cried and cried as they put their arms around Paul and kissed him with affection.
38 They were especially sorrowful because of what he had said—that they would never see his face again. Then they took him to the ship.
38 Give, and it will be given to you. A large quantity, pressed together, shaken down, and running over will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use,you will be measured."
14 What good does it do, my brothers, if someone claims to have faith but does not have any works? This kind of faith cannot save him, can it?
15 Suppose a brother or sister does not have any clothes or daily food
16 and one of you tells them, "Go in peace! Stay warm and eat heartily." If you do not provide for their bodily needs, what good does it do?
17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it does not have any works, is dead.
42 Give to the person who asks you for something, and do not turn away from the person who wants to borrow something from you."
13 Supply the needs of the saints. Extend hospitality to strangers.
16 In the same way, let your light shine before people in such a way that they will see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven."
28 The thief must no longer steal but must work hard and do what is good with his own hands, so that he might have something to give to the needy.
33 "Sell your possessions, and give the money to the poor. Make yourselves wallets that don't wear out—a dependable treasure in heaven, where no thief can get close and no moth can destroy anything.
34 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
2 Practice carrying each other's burdens. In this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
17 Whoever has earthly possessions and notices a brother in need and yet withholds his compassion from him, how can the love of God remain in him?
10 The crowds kept asking him, "What, then, should we do?"
11 He answered them, "The person who has two coats must share with the one who doesn't have any, and the person who has food must do the same."
