51 Let me tell you a secret. Not all of us will die, but all of us will be changed—
52 in a moment, in the blinking of an eye, at the sound of the last trumpet. Indeed, that trumpet will sound, and then the dead will be raised never to decay, and we will be changed.
17 ‘In the last days, God says,I will pour out my Spirit on everyone. Your sons and your daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams.
18 In those days I will even pour out my Spiriton my slaves, men and women alike, and they will prophesy.
19 I will work wonders in the sky aboveand signs on the earth below:blood, fire, and clouds of smoke.
20 The sun will turn to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the coming of the great and glorious Day of the Lord.
21 Then whoever calls on the name of the Lordwill be saved.’
29 "Immediately after the sufferingof those days,‘The sun will be darkened, the moon will not give its light, the stars will fall from the sky,and the powers of heaven will be shaken loose.’
30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the tribes of the earth will mourn when they see ‘the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven’ with power and great glory.
31 He will send out his angels with a loud trumpet blast, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to another."
42 "So keep on watching, because you don't know on what day your Lord is coming.
43 But be sure of this: if the owner of the house had known at what watch of the night the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and not allowed his house to be broken into.
44 So you, too, must be ready, because at an hour you are not expecting him the Son of Man will come."
1 You must realize, however, that in the last days difficult times will come.
2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,
3 unfeeling, uncooperative, slanderous, degenerate, brutal, hateful of what is good,
4 traitors, reckless, conceited, and lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God.
5 They will hold to an outward form of godliness but deny its power. Stay away from such people.
34 "Constantly be on your guard so that your hearts may not be loaded down with self-indulgence, drunkenness, and the worries of this life, or that day will take you by surprise
35 like a trap. For it will come on all who live on the face of the earth.
36 So be alert at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place and to take your stand in the presence of the Son of Man."
32 "No one knows when that day or hour will come—not the angels in heaven, not the Son, but only the Father.
14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come."
8 Don't forget this fact, dear friends: With the Lord a single day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a single day.
9 The Lord is not slow about his promise, as some people understand slowness, but is being patient with you. He does not want anyone to perish, but wants everyone to come to repentance.
10 But the Day of the Lord will come like a thief. On that day the heavens will disappear with a roaring sound, the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done on it will be exposed.
11 Since everything will be destroyed in this way, think of the kind of holy and godly people you ought to be
12 as you look forward to and hasten the coming of the day of God, by which the heavens will be set ablaze and dissolved and the elements will melt with fire.
13 But in keeping with his promise, we are looking forward to new heavens and a new earth, where righteousness is at home.
20 teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you each and every dayuntil the end of the age."
15 For this we declare to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who have died.
16 With a shout of command, with the archangel's call, and with the sound of God's trumpet, the Lord himself will come down from heaven, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
17 Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up in the clouds together with them to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.
18 So then, encourage one another with these words.
1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, because the first heaven and the first earth had disappeared, and the sea was gone.
2 I also saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared like a bride adorned for her husband.
3 I heard a loud voice from the throne say, "See, the tabernacle of God is among humans! He will make his home with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them, and he will be their God.
4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There won't be death anymore. There won't be any grief, crying, or pain, because the first things have disappeared."
