30 Then the angel told her, "Stop being afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.
31 Listen! You will become pregnant and give birth to a son, and you are to name him Jesus.
32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give him the throne of his forefather David.
33 He will rule over the house of Jacob forever, and his kingdom will never end."
37 Pilate said to him, "So you are a king?"Jesus answered,"You say that I am a king. I was born for this, and I came into the world for this: to testify to the truth. Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice."
16 "For this is how God loved the world: He gave his unique Son so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but have eternal life.
5 Have the same attitude among yourselves that was also in Christ Jesus:
6 In God's own form existed he,And shared with God equality,Deemed nothing needed grasping.
7 Instead, poured out in emptiness,A servant's form did he possess,A mortal man becoming. In human form he chose to be,
8 And lived in all humility,Death on a cross obeying.
4 Joseph, too, went up from the city of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to the city of David called Bethlehem, because he was a descendant of the household and family of David.
5 He went there to be registered with Mary, who had been promised to him in marriage and was pregnant.
6 While they were there, the time came for her to have her baby,
7 and she gave birth to her first child, a son. She wrapped him in strips of cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was not any room for them in the inn.
20 After he had thought about it, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph, son of David, don't be afraid to take Mary as your wife, for what has been conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.
21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to name him Jesus, because he is the one who will save his people from their sins."
22 Now all this happened to fulfill what was declared by the Lord through the prophet when he said,
23 "See, a virgin will become pregnantand give birth to a son, and they will name him Immanuel,"which means, "God with us."
24 When Joseph got up from his sleep, he did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary as his wife.
25 He did not have marital relations with her until she had given birth to a son; and he named him Jesus.
17 Thus he had to become like his brothers in every way, so that he could be a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God and could atone for the people's sins.
15 When the angels had left them and gone back to heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see what has taken place that the Lord has told us about."
16 So they went quickly and found Mary and Joseph with the baby, who was lying in the manger.
17 When they saw this, they repeated what they had been told about this child.
18 All who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds told them,
9 After listening to the king, they set out, and the star they had seen in the east went ahead of them until it came and stopped over the place where the child was.
10 When they saw the star, they were ecstatic with joy.
11 After they went into the house and saw the child with his mother Mary, they fell down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasure sacks and offered him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
12 Having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they left for their own country by a different road.
18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ happened in this way. When his mother Mary was engaged to Joseph, before they lived together she was discovered to be pregnant by the Holy Spirit.
14 Therefore, since the children have flesh and blood, he himself also shared the same things, so that by his death he might destroy the one who has the power of death (that is, the devil)
15 and might free those who were slaves all their lives because they were terrified by death.
10 Then the angel said to them, "Stop being afraid! Listen! I am bringing you good news of great joy for all the people.
11 Today your Savior, Christ the Lord, was born in the city of David.
12 And this will be a sign for you: You will find a baby wrapped in strips of cloth and lying in a manger."
4 But when the fullness of time had come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law,
5 in order to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as his children.
