8 Come close to God, and he will come close to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
17 Continually be prayerful.
7 "Keep asking, and it will be given to you. Keep searching, and you will find. Keep knocking, and the doorwill be opened for you.
8 For everyone who keeps asking will receive, and the person who keeps searching will find, and the person who keeps knocking will have the dooropened.
2 Devote yourselves to prayer. Be alert when you pray with thanksgiving.
16 Therefore, make it your habit to confess your sins to one another and to pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
19 And my God will fully supply your every need according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.
7 "Keep asking, and it will be given to you. Keep searching, and you will find. Keep knocking, and the doorwill be opened for you.
13 I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 If you ask mefor anything in my name, I will do it."
9 So I say to you: Keep asking, and it will be given you. Keep searching, and you will find. Keep knocking, and the doorwill be opened for you.
10 For everyone who keeps asking will receive, and the person who keeps searching will find, and the person who keeps knocking will have the dooropened.
20 nor did he doubt God's promise out of a lack of faith. Instead, he became strong in faith and gave glory to God,
21 being absolutely convinced that God would do what he had promised.
15 And if we know that he listens to our requests, we can be sure that we have what we ask him for.
6 But he must ask in faith, without any doubts, for the one who has doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.
7 Such a person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.
7 "When you are praying, don't say meaningless words like the Gentiles do, for they think they will be heard because of their wordiness.
8 Don't be like them, because your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
16 "You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you. I have appointed you to go and produce fruit that will last,so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he will give it to you.
22 You will receive whatever you ask for in prayer, if you believe."
14 And this is the confidence that we have in him: if we ask for anything according to his will, he listens to us.
2 You want something but do not get it, so you commit murder. You covet something but cannot obtain it, so you quarrel and fight. You do not get things because you do not ask for them!
6 Never worry about anything, but in every situation let your petitions be made known to God in prayers and requests, with thanksgiving.
7 Then God's peace, which goes far beyond anything we can imagine, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
2 So he told them,"Whenever you pray you are to say,‘Father, may your name be kept holy.May your kingdom come.
3 Keep giving us every day our daily bread,
4 and forgive us our sins, as we forgive everyone who sins against us.And never bring us into temptation.’"
5 Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to everyone generously without a rebuke, and it will be given to him.
6 But he must ask in faith, without any doubts, for the one who has doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.
7 Such a person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.
8 He is a double-minded man, unstable in all he undertakes.
7 If you abide in me and my words abide in you, you can ask for anything you want, and it will be yours.
20 For where two or three have come together in my name, I am there among them."
16 So let us keep on coming with boldness to the throne of grace, so that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
13 I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
24 Thatis why I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have receivedit and it will be yours.
6 Now without faith it is impossible to please God, for the one who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who diligently search for him.
6 Never worry about anything, but in every situation let your petitions be made known to God in prayers and requests, with thanksgiving.
8 Therefore, I want the men to offer prayers in every place, lifting up holy hands without being angry or argumentative.
21 Butthis kind does not come out except by prayer and fasting."
18 Pray in the Spirit at all times with every kind of prayer and request there is. For the same reason be alert with every kind of effort and request for all the saints.
8 I pleaded with the Lord three times to take it away from me,
9 but he has told me,"My grace is all you need, for my power is perfected in weakness." Therefore, I will most happily boast about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.
14 With one mind all of them kept devoting themselves to prayer, along with the women, including Mary the mother of Jesus, and his brothers.
13 I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 If you ask mefor anything in my name, I will do it."
18 Pray in the Spirit at all times with every kind of prayer and request there is. For the same reason be alert with every kind of effort and request for all the saints.
24 So far you haven't asked for anything in my name. Keep asking and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete."
26 In the same way, the Spirit also helps us in our weakness, for we do not know how to pray as we should. But the Spirit himself intercedes with groans too deep for words,
27 and the one who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, for the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to God's will.
22 Whatever we request we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do what pleases him.
5 "And whenever you pray, don't be like the hypocrites who love to stand in the synagogues and on the street corners so that they will be seen by people. Truly I tell you, they have their full reward!
16 Always be joyful.
17 Continually be prayerful.
18 In everything be thankful, because this is God's will in Christ Jesus for you.
24 Thatis why I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have receivedit and it will be yours.
22 You will receive whatever you ask for in prayer, if you believe."
6 But he must ask in faith, without any doubts, for the one who has doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.
24 Thatis why I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have receivedit and it will be yours.
27 "But I say to you who are listening: Love your enemies. Do good to those who hate you.
28 Bless those who curse you, and pray for those who insult you.
20 Now to the one who can do infinitely more than all we can ask or imagine according to the power that is working among us—
11 So if you who are evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who keep on asking him!
9 "Therefore, this is how you should pray:‘Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy.
10 May your kingdom come.May your will be done,on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today our daily bread,
12 and forgive us our sins,as we have forgiven those who have sinned against us.
13 And never bring us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’
31 "Simon, Simon, listen! Satan has asked permission to sift all of youlike wheat,
32 but I have prayed for you that your own faith may not fail. When you have turned back, you must strengthen your brothers."
39 Going on a little farther, he fell on his face and prayed,"O my Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me. Yet not what I want but what you want."
12 Be joyful in hope, patient in trouble, and persistent in prayer.
16 So let us keep on coming with boldness to the throne of grace, so that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
14 And this is the confidence that we have in him: if we ask for anything according to his will, he listens to us.
15 And if we know that he listens to our requests, we can be sure that we have what we ask him for.
16 Therefore, make it your habit to confess your sins to one another and to pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
20 Now to the one who can do infinitely more than all we can ask or imagine according to the power that is working among us—
7 The end of everything is near; so be sensible and clear-headed for the sake of your prayers.
18 "Truly I tell you, whatever you prohibit on earth will have been prohibitedin heaven, and whatever you permit on earth will have been permittedin heaven.
17 Continually be prayerful.
7 "When you are praying, don't say meaningless words like the Gentiles do, for they think they will be heard because of their wordiness.
6 But whenever you pray, go into your room, close the door, and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
8 Therefore, I want the men to offer prayers in every place, lifting up holy hands without being angry or argumentative.
1 Jesus told his disciples a parable about their need to pray all the time and never give up.
2 He said,"In a city there was a judge who didn't fear God or respect people.
3 In that city there was also a widow who kept coming to him and saying, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.’
4 For a while the judgerefused. But later he said to himself, ‘I don't fear God or respect people.
5 Yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will grant her justice. Otherwise, she will keep coming and wear me out.’"
6 Then the Lord added,"Listen to what the unrighteous judge says.
7 Won't God grant his chosen people justice when they cry out to him day and night? Is he slow to help them?
8 I tell you, he will give them justice quickly. But when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?"
6 But whenever you pray, go into your room, close the door, and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
7 "When you are praying, don't say meaningless words like the Gentiles do, for they think they will be heard because of their wordiness.
16 So let us keep on coming with boldness to the throne of grace, so that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
25 Around midnight, Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.
25 Therefore, because he always lives to intercede for them, he is able to save completely those who come to God through him.
