16 Live in harmony with each other. Do not be arrogant, but associate with humble people. Do not think that you are wiser than you really are.
3 Do not act out of selfish ambition or conceit, but with humility think of others as being better than yourselves.
4 Do not be concerned about your own interests, but also be concerned about the interests of others.
5 Have the same attitude among yourselves that was also in Christ Jesus:
16 For everything that is in the world—the desire for fleshly gratification, the desire for possessions, and worldly arrogance—is not from the Father but is from the world.
5 In a similar way, you young people must be submissive to the elders. All of you must put on the apron of humility before one another, because "God opposes the arrogant, but gives grace to the humble."
6 Therefore, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, so that at the proper time he may exalt you.
7 Throw all your worry on him, because he cares for you.
3 Even if I give away all that I have and surrender my body so that I may boast but have no love, I get nothing out of it.
12 Therefore, the person who thinks he is standing securely should watch out that he does not fall.
9 A brother of low status should boast in his exalted status,
10 and a rich person in his lowliness, because he will fade away like a flower in the grass.
6 But he gives all the more grace. And so he says, "God opposes the arrogantbut gives grace to the humble."
28 And God chose what is insignificant in the world, what is despised, what is nothing, in order to destroy what is something,
29 so that no human being may boast in God's presence.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against such things.
17 Tell those who are rich in the present world not to be arrogant and not to place their confidence in anything as uncertain as riches. Instead, let them place their confidence in God, who lavishly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.
20 He continued,"It is what comes out of a person that makes a person unclean.
21 For it is from within, from the human heart, that evil thoughts come, as well as sexual immorality, stealing, murder,
22 adultery, greed, wickedness, cheating, shameless lust, envy, slander, arrogance, and foolishness.
23 All these things come from within and make a person unclean."
11 For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the person who humbles himself will be exalted."
17 "The person who boasts must boast in the Lord."
18 It is not the person who commends himself who is approved, but the person whom the Lord commends.
10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.
