39 Theone who finds his life will lose it, and the one who loses his life because of me will find it."
29 For you have been given the privilege for Christ's sake not only to believe in him but also to suffer for him.
35 Who can separate us from Christ's love? Can trouble, distress, persecution, hunger, nakedness, danger, or a sword?
1 Therefore, since Christ suffered in the sphere of the flesh, you, too, must arm yourselves with the same determination. For the person who has suffered in the sphere of the flesh has stopped sinning,
22 I have had help from God to this day, and so I stand here to testify to high and low alike, stating only what the prophets and Moses said would happen—
23 that the Christ would suffer and be the first to rise from the dead and would announce light to our people and the Gentiles."
3 Even if I give away all that I have and surrender my body so that I may boast but have no love, I get nothing out of it.
5 For just as Christ's sufferings overflow to us, so our comfort overflows through Christ.
17 This light, temporary nature of our suffering is producing for us an eternal weight of glory, far beyond any comparison,
21 This is, in fact, what you were called to do, because Christ also suffered for you and left an example for you to follow in his steps.
14 But even if you should suffer for doing what is right, you are blessed. Never be afraid of their threats, and never get upset.
28 They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him.
29 Twisting some thorns into a victor's crown, they placed it on his head and put a stick in his right hand. They knelt down in front of him and began making fun of him, saying, "Long live the king of the Jews!"
23 In Hades, where he was in constant torture, he looked up and saw Abraham far away and Lazarus by his side.
24 So he shouted, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me! Send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and to cool off my tongue, because I am suffering in this fire.’
2 Practice carrying each other's burdens. In this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
10 I want to know Christ—what his resurrection power is like and what it means to share in his sufferings by becoming like him in his death,
10 After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you in Christ Jesus to his eternal glory, will restore you, establish you, strengthen you, and support you.
3 Not only that, but we also boast in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance,
4 endurance produces character, and character produces hope.
38 The one who doesn't take up his cross and follow me isn't worthy of me.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! He is the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort,
4 who comforts us in all our suffering, so that we may be able to comfort others in all their suffering, since we ourselves are being comforted by God.
18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed to us.
