1 A song of ascents. Blessed is every one that fears the LORD; that walks in his ways.
2 For you shall eat the labor of your hands: happy shall you be, and it shall be well with you.
3 Your wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of your house: your children like olive plants round about your table.
4 Behold, thus shall the man be blessed that fears the LORD.
52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.
6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
7 If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chastens not?
8 But if you be without chastisement, of which all are partakers, then are you illegitimate children, and not sons.
25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his offspring begging bread.
26 He is ever merciful, and lends; and his descendants are blessed.
14 But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Allow the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
4 But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let them learn first to show piety at home, and so repay their parents: for that is good and acceptable before God.
1 Hear, you children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding.
1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.
2 Honor your father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise;
3 That it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth.
28 Therefore God give you of the dew of heaven, and the fatness of the earth, and plenty of grain and wine:
29 Let people serve you, and nations bow down to you: be lord over your brethren, and let your mother's sons bow down to you: cursed be everyone that curses you, and blessed be he that blesses you.
4 Blessed shall be the fruit of your body, and the fruit of your ground, and the fruit of your herds, the increase of your cattle, and the flocks of your sheep.
15 Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.
21 A woman when she is in travail has sorrow, because her hour has come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembers no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world.
24 He that spares his rod hates his son: but he that loves him chastens him early.
6 And these words, which I command you this day, shall be in your heart:
7 And you shall teach them diligently unto your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up.
24 The LORD bless you, and keep you:
25 The LORD make his face shine upon you, and be gracious unto you:
26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace.
3 Lo, children are a heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
4 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.
5 Happy is the man that has his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.
28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.
7 The just man walks in his integrity: his children are blessed after him.
3 For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon your descendants, and my blessing upon your offspring:
4 And they shall spring up as among the grass, as willows by the watercourses.
13 And all your children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of your children.
38 And they shall be my people, and I will be their God:
39 And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me forever, for the good of them, and of their children after them:
13 Like as a father pities his children, so the LORD pities them that fear him.
11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father who is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
1 Behold, what manner of love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called the children of God: therefore the world knows us not, because it knew him not.
6 Children's children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children is their fathers.
15 The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself brings his mother to shame.
39 Moreover your little ones, who you said should be a prey, and your children, who in that day had no knowledge between good and evil, they shall go in there, and unto them will I give it, and they shall possess it.
5 Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; and before you came forth out of the womb I sanctified you, and I ordained you a prophet unto the nations.
12 Honor your father and your mother: that your days may be long upon the land which the LORD your God gives you.
13 For you have formed my inward parts: you have covered me in my mother's womb.
14 I will praise you; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are your works; and that my soul knows right well.
15 My frame was not hid from you, when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
16 Your eyes did see my substance, being yet unformed; and in your book they were all written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them.
12 That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner pillars, polished after the similitude of a palace:
1 The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son makes a glad father: but a foolish son is the grief of his mother.
10 I was cast upon you from birth: you are my God from my mother's womb.
21 Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.
4 And, you fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
20 Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.
13 Withhold not correction from the child: for if you beat him with a rod, he shall not die.
4 We will not hide them from their children, showing to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he has done.
14 You shall be blessed above all people: there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle.
2 His descendants shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.
