1 So the king and Haman came to banquet with Esther the queen. 2 And the king said again unto Esther on the second day at the banquet of wine, What is thy petition, queen Esther? and it shall be granted thee: and what is thy request? and it shall be performed, even to the half of the kingdom. 3 Then Esther the queen answered and said, If I have found favour in thy sight, O king, and if it please the king, let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request: 4 For we are sold, I and my people, to be destroyed, to be slain, and to perish. But if we had been sold for bondmen and bondwomen, I had held my tongue, although the enemy could not countervail the king’s damage.

5 Then the king Ahasuerus answered and said unto Esther the queen, Who is he, and where is he, that durst presume in his heart to do so? 6 And Esther said, The adversary and enemy is this wicked Haman. Then Haman was afraid before the king and the queen.

7 And the king arising from the banquet of wine in his wrath went into the palace garden: and Haman stood up to make request for his life to Esther the queen; for he saw that there was evil determined against him by the king. 8 Then the king returned out of the palace garden into the place of the banquet of wine; and Haman was fallen upon the bed whereon Esther was. Then said the king, Will he force the queen also before me in the house? As the word went out of the king’s mouth, they covered Haman’s face. 9 And Harbonah, one of the chamberlains, said before the king, Behold also, the gallows fifty cubits high, which Haman had made for Mordecai, who had spoken good for the king, standeth in the house of Haman. Then the king said, Hang him thereon. 10 So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then was the king’s wrath pacified.

1 王带着哈曼去赴王后以斯帖的筵席。

2 在这第二次的酒席中， 王又问以斯帖： "以斯帖啊， 你要什么？我必赐给你； 你求什么？就是一半江山， 也必给你成全。"

3 王后以斯帖回答， 说： "我若是在你眼前蒙恩， 王若是喜欢， 我所要的， 是要王把我的性命赐给我； 我所求的， 是求王把我的族人赐给我。

4 因为我和我的族人被人出卖， 快要毁灭， 被杀尽、灭绝了。我们若是只被卖为奴婢， 我也必闭口不言， 但王的损失是敌人不能补偿的。"

5 亚哈随鲁王问王后以斯帖， 说： "存心这样行的人是谁？他在哪里？"

6 以斯帖回答： "这敌人和仇人， 就是这恶人哈曼！ "哈曼在王和王后面前立刻惊惶万分。

7 于是王带着盛怒， 从酒席间起来， 到御园里去； 哈曼却留下来求王后以斯帖救他一命， 因为哈曼看出王已经决意要加罪与他。

8 王从御园回到酒席那里； 那时哈曼正伏在以斯帖所靠的榻上； 于是王说： "他竟敢在宫里， 当着我的面污辱王后吗？"这话一出王口， 人就把哈曼的脸蒙住了。

9 在王面前有一个太监哈波拿说： "还有， 哈曼为那曾经说好话救王有功的末底改， 立了一个二十二公尺高的木架， 现在正立在哈曼的家里呢。"王说： "把哈曼挂在上面吧！ "

10 于是他们把哈曼挂在他为末底改预备的木架上； 王的忿怒才渐渐止息。
