And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 2 Son of man, set thy face toward Jerusalem, and drop thy word toward the holy places, and prophesy against the land of Israel, 3 And say to the land of Israel, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I am against thee, and will draw forth my sword out of his sheath, and will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked. 4 Seeing then that I will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked, therefore shall my sword go forth out of his sheath against all flesh from the south to the north: 5 That all flesh may know that I the LORD have drawn forth my sword out of his sheath: it shall not return any more. 6 Sigh therefore, thou son of man, with the breaking of thy loins; and with bitterness sigh before their eyes. 7 And it shall be, when they say unto thee, Wherefore sighest thou? that thou shalt answer, For the tidings; because it cometh: and every heart shall melt, and all hands shall be feeble, and every spirit shall faint, and all knees shall be weak as water: behold, it cometh, and shall be brought to pass, saith the Lord GOD. 
Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 9 Son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus saith the LORD; Say, A sword, a sword is sharpened, and also furbished: 10 It is sharpened to make a sore slaughter; it is furbished that it may glitter: should we then make mirth? it contemneth the rod of my son, as every tree. 11 And he hath given it to be furbished, that it may be handled: this sword is sharpened, and it is furbished, to give it into the hand of the slayer. 12 Cry and howl, son of man: for it shall be upon my people, it shall be upon all the princes of Israel: terrors by reason of the sword shall be upon my people: smite therefore upon thy thigh. 13 Because it is a trial, and what if the sword contemn even the rod? it shall be no more, saith the Lord GOD. 14 Thou therefore, son of man, prophesy, and smite thine hands together, and let the sword be doubled the third time, the sword of the slain: it is the sword of the great men that are slain, which entereth into their privy chambers. 15 I have set the point of the sword against all their gates, that their heart may faint, and their ruins be multiplied: ah! it is made bright, it is wrapped up for the slaughter. 16 Go thee one way or other, either on the right hand, or on the left, whithersoever thy face is set. 17 I will also smite mine hands together, and I will cause my fury to rest: I the LORD have said it. 
The word of the LORD came unto me again, saying, 19 Also, thou son of man, appoint thee two ways, that the sword of the king of Babylon may come: both twain shall come forth out of one land: and choose thou a place, choose it at the head of the way to the city. 20 Appoint a way, that the sword may come to Rabbath of the Ammonites, and to Judah in Jerusalem the defenced. 21 For the king of Babylon stood at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to use divination: he made his arrows bright, he consulted with images, he looked in the liver. 22 At his right hand was the divination for Jerusalem, to appoint captains, to open the mouth in the slaughter, to lift up the voice with shouting, to appoint battering rams against the gates, to cast a mount, and to build a fort. 23 And it shall be unto them as a false divination in their sight, to them that have sworn oaths: but he will call to remembrance the iniquity, that they may be taken. 24 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye have made your iniquity to be remembered, in that your transgressions are discovered, so that in all your doings your sins do appear; because, I say, that ye are come to remembrance, ye shall be taken with the hand. 
And thou, profane wicked prince of Israel, whose day is come, when iniquity shall have an end, 26 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Remove the diadem, and take off the crown: this shall not be the same: exalt him that is low, and abase him that is high. 27 I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it: and it shall be no more, until he come whose right it is; and I will give it him. 
And thou, son of man, prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD concerning the Ammonites, and concerning their reproach; even say thou, The sword, the sword is drawn: for the slaughter it is furbished, to consume because of the glittering: 29 Whiles they see vanity unto thee, whiles they divine a lie unto thee, to bring thee upon the necks of them that are slain, of the wicked, whose day is come, when their iniquity shall have an end. 30 Shall I cause it to return into his sheath? I will judge thee in the place where thou wast created, in the land of thy nativity. 31 And I will pour out mine indignation upon thee, I will blow against thee in the fire of my wrath, and deliver thee into the hand of brutish men, and skilful to destroy. 32 Thou shalt be for fuel to the fire; thy blood shall be in the midst of the land; thou shalt be no more remembered: for I the LORD have spoken it.

耶和华的话临到我说： （本节在《马索拉抄本》为21:6） 
"人子啊！ 你要面向耶路撒冷， 向圣所发言， 说预言攻击以色列地， 
你要对以色列地说： ‘耶和华这样说： 看哪！ 我要攻击你； 我要拔刀出鞘， 把义人和恶人都从你那里剪除。 
我既然要把义人和恶人都从你那里剪除， 所以我的刀必要出鞘， 从南到北攻击所有的人； 
所有的人就知道我耶和华已经拔刀出鞘， 刀必不再入鞘了。’ 
人子啊！ 至于你， 你要叹息， 在他们眼前弯着腰， 苦苦叹息。 
他们如果问你： ‘你为什么叹息呢？’你就要回答： ‘是因为那将要来到的消息； 人人都必心慌意乱， 手都发软， 精神衰颓， 他们的膝都像水一般的柔弱。看哪！ 它要来到了。这事一定要成就。这是主耶和华的宣告。’" 
耶和华的话临到我说： 
"人子啊！ 你要预言， 说： ‘主耶和华这样说： 有一把刀， 有一把磨利了的刀， 是擦亮了的刀； 
磨利， 是为要大行杀戮， 擦亮， 是为要闪烁发光！ 我们怎能快乐呢？我的儿子藐视管教的杖和一切劝告（"劝告"原文作"木头"）。 
这刀已经交给人擦亮， 可以握在手中使用； 这刀已经磨利擦亮了， 可以交在行杀戮的人手中。’ 
人子啊！ 你要呼喊、哀号。因为这刀要临到我的子民， 以及以色列所有的领袖； 他们与我的子民都要交在刀下； 所以你要拍腿悲叹， 
因为考验必要来到， 你为什么要藐视那管教的杖呢？这事必不得成功。这是主耶和华的宣告。 
"人子啊！ 至于你， 你要拍手说预言， 要接二连三地使用这杀人的刀， 就是导致极大死伤的刀， 把它们围困， 
好使他们心慌意乱， 多人跌倒， 我在他们所有的城门那里布下了杀戮（"杀戮"原文意思不详， 这译法参古译本）的人； 啊！ 这刀做得闪烁发光， 磨得尖利， 可以杀戮。 
刀啊， 向右边斩吧！ 向左边刺吧！ 无论你面向哪一方， 就向哪一方杀戮吧！ 
我也要拍手， 并且要使我的烈怒止息； 这是我耶和华说的。" 
耶和华的话又临到我说： 
"人子啊！ 至于你， 你要定出两条路， 给巴比伦王的刀前来； 这两条路都从同一个地方出来； 你要在通往城去的路口上做一个路标。 
你要定出一条路， 使刀临到亚扪的拉巴， 又要定出另一条路， 使刀临到犹大， 攻击坚固城耶路撒冷。 
因为巴比伦王站在分叉路口， 在两条路口上占卜、摇签、求问神像， 察看动物的肝。 
他右手中拿着耶路撒冷的签， 要在那里架起攻城锤， 下令屠杀， 扬声吶喊； 架起攻城锤， 攻打城门； 筑起土垒， 建造围城的高墙。 
在那些曾经向巴比伦起誓效忠的犹大人看来， 这是虚假的占卜， 但巴比伦王要使他们想起自己的罪孽， 把他们掳去。 
因此， 主耶和华这样说： ‘你们的过犯显露， 你们的罪在你们的一切行为上给人看见； 以致你们的罪孽被想起。你们既被想起， 就要被人用手掳去。 
你这该死、邪恶的以色列王啊！ 你的日子到了， 最后惩罚的时刻到了。’ 
主耶和华这样说： ‘你当除去头巾， 脱下冠冕！ 现在情形不同了， 卑微的要升高， 位高的要降卑！ 
倾覆， 倾覆， 我要倾覆这国， 这国不再存在， 直等到那统治的人来到， 我就把国赐给他。’ 
"人子啊！ 你要说预言： 论到亚扪人和他们的侮辱， 主耶和华这样说： ‘你要说： 有一把刀， 有一把刀拔出来， 是为要杀戮； 擦亮， 是为要毁灭， 为要闪烁发光。 
人为你所见的异象是虚假的， 为你所占的卜是虚谎的， 使你倒在该死的恶人的颈项上； 他们受惩罚的日子到了， 最后惩罚的时刻到了。 
收刀入鞘吧！ 我必在你被造之地， 根源之处， 审判你。 
我必把我的忿怒倒在你身上， 把我的怒火喷在你身上， 又把你交在那些惯于毁灭的野蛮人手中。 
你必当作燃料被火焚烧； 你的血要流在你的国中； 你必不再被记念， 因为这是我耶和华说的。’"
