1 Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land. 2 By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood. 3 Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away. 4 Yet let no man strive, nor reprove another: for thy people are as they that strive with the priest. 5 Therefore shalt thou fall in the day, and the prophet also shall fall with thee in the night, and I will destroy thy mother.
6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. 7 As they were increased, so they sinned against me: therefore will I change their glory into shame. 8 They eat up the sin of my people, and they set their heart on their iniquity. 9 And there shall be, like people, like priest: and I will punish them for their ways, and reward them their doings. 10 For they shall eat, and not have enough: they shall commit whoredom, and shall not increase: because they have left off to take heed to the LORD. 11 Whoredom and wine and new wine take away the heart.
12 My people ask counsel at their stocks, and their staff declareth unto them: for the spirit of whoredoms hath caused them to err, and they have gone a whoring from under their God. 13 They sacrifice upon the tops of the mountains, and burn incense upon the hills, under oaks and poplars and elms, because the shadow thereof is good: therefore your daughters shall commit whoredom, and your spouses shall commit adultery. 14 I will not punish your daughters when they commit whoredom, nor your spouses when they commit adultery: for themselves are separated with whores, and they sacrifice with harlots: therefore the people that doth not understand shall fall.
15 Though thou, Israel, play the harlot, yet let not Judah offend; and come not ye unto Gilgal, neither go ye up to Beth-aven, nor swear, The LORD liveth. 16 For Israel slideth back as a backsliding heifer: now the LORD will feed them as a lamb in a large place. 17 Ephraim is joined to idols: let him alone. 18 Their drink is sour: they have committed whoredom continually: her rulers with shame do love, Give ye. 19 The wind hath bound her up in her wings, and they shall be ashamed because of their sacrifices.
1 以色列人哪！ 你们要听耶和华的话。耶和华要与这地的居民争辩， 因为在这地上没有诚实， 没有慈爱， 也没有认识 神的知识；
2 只有起假誓、撒谎、残杀、偷盗、奸淫、行强暴， 以至流人血事件相继而来。
3 因此， 这地必悲哀， 地上所有的居民、田野的走兽、空中的飞鸟都必衰微、枯萎， 连海里的鱼也要灭亡。
4 虽然这样， 人人都不必争论， 不要彼此指责。祭司啊！ 要与你辩论的是我。
5 白天你要跌倒， 晚上先知也必与你一同跌倒； 我要毁灭你的母亲。
6 我的子民因无知识而灭亡； 因为你拒绝了知识， 我必拒绝你， 不让你作我的祭司； 因为你忘掉了你 神的律法， 我也必忘记你的子孙。
7 祭司越增多， 就越发得罪我， 我必把他们的尊荣变为耻辱。
8 他们借着我的子民犯罪来养活自己， 渴望他们多有罪孽。
9 所以， 祭司怎样， 人民也怎样。我必按他们的行为惩罚他们， 照他们的行为报应他们。
10 他们吃， 却吃不饱； 行淫， 人数却不会增多； 因为他们离弃了耶和华， 不遵守他的命令。
11 淫行、陈酒和新酒， 把人的心夺走了。
12 我的子民求问木头， 由木杖引导他们， 因为淫荡的心使他们走迷了路， 他们就行淫不顺从 神。
13 他们在山顶上献祭， 在冈陵上的橡树、杨树和栗树之下献上烧香， 因为树荫美好。所以你们的女儿行淫乱， 你们的儿媳犯奸淫。
14 我却不因你们的女儿行淫乱， 也不因你们的儿媳犯奸淫而惩罚她们， 因为你们男人自己离群与娼妓在一起， 又与庙妓一同献祭。这无知的人民必遭毁灭。
15 以色列啊！ 你虽然行淫， 犹大却不可犯罪， 不要往吉甲去， 不要上到伯．亚文， 也不要指着永活的耶和华起誓。
16 以色列倔强， 好像倔强的母牛， 现在耶和华怎样牧放他们， 好像牧放宽阔草场上的羊羔呢？
17 以法莲和偶像连在一起， 任凭他吧！
18 他们醉意全消以后， 就不断行淫； 他们的官长最喜爱耻辱的事。
19 风要把他们裹在翅膀里卷去， 他们必因自己所献的祭祀而蒙受羞辱。
