23 And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked? 24 Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein? 25 That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right? 26 And the LORD said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes. 27 And Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord, which am but dust and ashes: 28 Peradventure there shall lack five of the fifty righteous: wilt thou destroy all the city for lack of five? And he said, If I find there forty and five, I will not destroy it. 29 And he spake unto him yet again, and said, Peradventure there shall be forty found there. And he said, I will not do it for forty’s sake. 30 And he said unto him, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak: Peradventure there shall thirty be found there. And he said, I will not do it, if I find thirty there. 31 And he said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord: Peradventure there shall be twenty found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for twenty’s sake. 32 And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten’s sake. 33 And the LORD went his way, as soon as he had left communing with Abraham: and Abraham returned unto his place.

23 Abraham s'approcha, et dit: Feras-tu aussi périr le juste avec le méchant?

24 Peut-être y a-t-il cinquante justes au milieu de la ville: les feras-tu périr aussi, et ne pardonneras-tu pas à la ville à cause des cinquante justes qui sont au milieu d'elle?

25 Faire mourir le juste avec le méchant, en sorte qu'il en soit du juste comme du méchant, loin de toi cette manière d'agir! loin de toi! Celui qui juge toute la terre n'exercera-t-il pas la justice?

26 Et l'Eternel dit: Si je trouve dans Sodome cinquante justes au milieu de la ville, je pardonnerai à toute la ville, à cause d'eux.

27 Abraham reprit, et dit: Voici, j'ai osé parler au Seigneur, moi qui ne suis que poudre et cendre.

28 Peut-être des cinquante justes en manquera-t-il cinq: pour cinq, détruiras-tu toute la ville? Et l'Eternel dit: Je ne la détruirai point, si j'y trouve quarante-cinq justes.

29 Abraham continua de lui parler, et dit: Peut-être s'y trouvera-t-il quarante justes. Et l'Eternel dit: Je ne ferai rien, à cause de ces quarante.

30 Abraham dit: Que le Seigneur ne s'irrite point, et je parlerai. Peut-être s'y trouvera-t-il trente justes. Et l'Eternel dit: Je ne ferai rien, si j'y trouve trente justes.

31 Abraham dit: Voici, j'ai osé parler au Seigneur. Peut-être s'y trouvera-t-il vingt justes. Et l'Eternel dit: Je ne la détruirai point, à cause de ces vingt.

32 Abraham dit: Que le Seigneur ne s'irrite point, et je ne parlerai plus que cette fois. Peut-être s'y trouvera-t-il dix justes. Et l'Eternel dit: Je ne la détruirai point, à cause de ces dix justes.

33 L'Eternel s'en alla lorsqu'il eut achevé de parler à Abraham. Et Abraham retourna dans sa demeure.

23 E Abrahamo saccostò e disse: "Farai tu perire il giusto insieme con lempio?

24 Forse ci son cinquanta giusti nella città; farai tu perire anche quelli? o non perdonerai tu a quel luogo er amore de cinquanta giusti che vi sono?

25 Lungi da te il fare tal cosa! il far morire il giusto con lempio, in guisa che il giusto sia trattato come lempio! lungi da te! Il giudice di tutta la terra non farà egli giustizia?"

26 E lEterno disse: "Se trovo nella città di Sodoma cinquanta giusti, perdonerò a tutto il luogo per amor dessi".

27 E Abrahamo riprese e disse: "Ecco, prendo lardire di parlare al Signore, benché io non sia che polvere e cenere;

28 forse, a que cinquanta giusti ne mancheranno cinque; distruggerai tu tutta la città per cinque di meno?" E lEterno: "Se ve ne trovo quarantacinque, non la distruggerò".

29 Abrahamo continuò a parlargli e disse: "Forse, vi se ne troveranno quaranta". E lEterno: "Non io farò, per amor dei quaranta".

30 E Abrahamo disse: "Deh, non si adiri il Signore, ed io parlerò. Forse, vi se ne troveranno trenta". E Eterno: "Non lo farò, se ve ne trovo trenta".

31 E Abrahamo disse: "Ecco, prendo lardire di parlare al Signore; forse, vi se ne troveranno venti". E Eterno: "Non la distruggerò per amore dei venti".

32 E Abrahamo disse: "Deh, non si adiri il Signore, e io parlerò ancora questa volta soltanto. Forse, vi se ne troveranno dieci". E lEterno: "Non la distruggerò per amore de dieci".

33 E come lEterno ebbe finito di parlare ad Abrahamo, se ne andò. E Abrahamo tornò alla sua dimora.
