1 Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.

2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;

5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

6 The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.

7 He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.

8 The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.

9 He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.

10 He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.

11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.

12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.

14 For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.

15 As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.

16 For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.

17 But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children;

18 To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.

19 The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.

20 Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.

21 Bless ye the LORD, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.

22 Bless the LORD, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the LORD, O my soul.

1 De David. Mon âme, bénis l'Eternel! Que tout ce qui est en moi bénisse son saint nom!

2 Mon âme, bénis l'Eternel, Et n'oublie aucun de ses bienfaits!

3 C'est lui qui pardonne toutes tes iniquités, Qui guérit toutes tes maladies;

4 C'est lui qui délivre ta vie de la fosse, Qui te couronne de bonté et de miséricorde;

5 C'est lui qui rassasie de biens ta vieillesse, Qui te fait rajeunir comme l'aigle.

6 L'Eternel fait justice, Il fait droit à tous les opprimés.

7 Il a manifesté ses voies à Moïse, Ses oeuvres aux enfants d'Israël.

8 L'Eternel est miséricordieux et compatissant, Lent à la colère et riche en bonté;

9 Il ne conteste pas sans cesse, Il ne garde pas sa colère à toujours;

10 Il ne nous traite pas selon nos péchés, Il ne nous punit pas selon nos iniquités.

11 Mais autant les cieux sont élevés au-dessus de la terre, Autant sa bonté est grande pour ceux qui le craignent;

12 Autant l'orient est éloigné de l'occident, Autant il éloigne de nous nos transgressions.

13 Comme un père a compassion de ses enfants, L'Eternel a compassion de ceux qui le craignent.

14 Car il sait de quoi nous sommes formés, Il se souvient que nous sommes poussière.

15 L'homme! ses jours sont comme l'herbe, Il fleurit comme la fleur des champs.

16 Lorsqu'un vent passe sur elle, elle n'est plus, Et le lieu qu'elle occupait ne la reconnaît plus.

17 Mais la bonté de l'Eternel dure à jamais pour ceux qui le craignent, Et sa miséricorde pour les enfants de leurs enfants,

18 Pour ceux qui gardent son alliance, Et se souviennent de ses commandements afin de les accomplir.

19 L'Eternel a établi son trône dans les cieux, Et son règne domine sur toutes choses.

20 Bénissez l'Eternel, vous ses anges, Qui êtes puissants en force, et qui exécutez ses ordres, En obéissant à la voix de sa parole!

21 Bénissez l'Eternel, vous toutes ses armées, Qui êtes ses serviteurs, et qui faites sa volonté!

22 Bénissez l'Eternel, vous toutes ses oeuvres, Dans tous les lieux de sa domination! Mon âme, bénis l'Eternel!

1 Di Davide. Benedici, anima mia, l’Eterno; e tutto quello ch’è in me, benedica il nome suo santo.

2 Benedici, anima mia l’Eterno, e non dimenticare alcuno de’ suoi benefici.

3 Egli è quel che ti perdona tutte le tue iniquità, che sana tutte le tue infermità,

4 che redime la tua vita dalla fossa, che ti corona di benignità e di compassioni,

5 che sazia di beni la tua bocca, che ti fa ringiovanire come l’aquila.

6 L’Eterno fa giustizia e ragione a tutti quelli che sono oppressi.

7 Egli fece conoscere a Mosè le sue vie e ai figliuoli d’Israele le sue opere.

8 L’Eterno è pietoso e clemente, lento all’ira e di gran benignità.

9 Egli non contende in eterno, né serba l’ira sua in perpetuo.

10 Egli non ci ha trattati secondo i nostri peccati, né ci ha retribuiti secondo le nostre iniquità.

11 Poiché quanto i cieli sono alti al disopra della terra, tanto è grande la sua benignità verso quelli che lo temono.

12 Quanto è lontano il levante dal ponente, tanto ha egli allontanato da noi le nostre trasgressioni.

13 Come un padre è pietoso verso i suoi figliuoli, così è pietoso l’Eterno verso quelli che lo temono.

14 Poiché egli conosce la nostra natura; egli si ricorda che siam polvere.

15 I giorni dell’uomo son come l’erba; egli fiorisce come il fiore del campo;

16 se un vento gli passa sopra ei non è più, e il luogo dov’era non lo riconosce più.

17 Ma la benignità dell’Eterno dura ab eterno e in eterno, sopra quelli che lo temono, e la sua giustizia sopra i figliuoli de’ figliuoli

18 di quelli che osservano il suo patto, e si ricordano de’ suoi comandamenti per metterli in opra.

19 L’Eterno ha stabilito il suo trono ne’ cieli, e il suo regno signoreggia su tutto.

20 Benedite l’Eterno, voi suoi angeli, potenti e forti, che fate ciò ch’egli dice, ubbidendo alla voce della sua parola!

21 Benedite l’Eterno, voi tutti gli eserciti suoi, che siete suoi ministri, e fate ciò che gli piace!

22 Benedite l’Eterno, voi tutte le opere sue, in tutti i luoghi della sua signoria! Anima mia, benedici l’Eterno!
