1 I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

2 My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.

3 O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.

4 I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.

5 They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.

6 This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.

7 The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

8 O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

9 O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.

10 The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.

11 Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD.

12 What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?

13 Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.

14 Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

15 The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.

16 The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

17 The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.

18 The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

20 He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.

21 Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate.

22 The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.

1 De David. Lorsqu'il contrefit l'insensé en présence d'Abimélec, et qu'il s'en alla chassé par lui. Je bénirai l'Eternel en tout temps; Sa louange sera toujours dans ma bouche.

2 Que mon âme se glorifie en l'Eternel! Que les malheureux écoutent et se réjouissent!

3 Exaltez avec moi l'Eternel! Célébrons tous son nom!

4 J'ai cherché l'Eternel, et il m'a répondu; Il m'a délivré de toutes mes frayeurs.

5 Quand on tourne vers lui les regards, on est rayonnant de joie, Et le visage ne se couvre pas de honte.

6 Quand un malheureux crie, l'Eternel entend, Et il le sauve de toutes ses détresses.

7 L'ange de l'Eternel campe autour de ceux qui le craignent, Et il les arrache au danger.

8 Sentez et voyez combien l'Eternel est bon! Heureux l'homme qui cherche en lui son refuge!

9 Craignez l'Eternel, vous ses saints! Car rien ne manque à ceux qui le craignent.

10 Les lionceaux éprouvent la disette et la faim, Mais ceux qui cherchent l'Eternel ne sont privés d'aucun bien.

11 Venez, mes fils, écoutez-moi! Je vous enseignerai la crainte de l'Eternel.

12 Quel est l'homme qui aime la vie, Qui désire la prolonger pour jouir du bonheur?

13 Préserve ta langue du mal, Et tes lèvres des paroles trompeuses;

14 Eloigne-toi du mal, et fais le bien; Recherche et poursuis la paix.

15 Les yeux de l'Eternel sont sur les justes, Et ses oreilles sont attentives à leurs cris.

16 L'Eternel tourne sa face contre les méchants, Pour retrancher de la terre leur souvenir.

17 Quand les justes crient, l'Eternel entend, Et il les délivre de toutes leurs détresses;

18 L'Eternel est près de ceux qui ont le coeur brisé, Et il sauve ceux qui ont l'esprit dans l'abattement.

19 Le malheur atteint souvent le juste, Mais l'Eternel l'en délivre toujours.

20 Il garde tous ses os, Aucun d'eux n'est brisé.

21 Le malheur tue le méchant, Et les ennemis du juste sont châtiés.

22 L'Eternel délivre l'âme de ses serviteurs, Et tous ceux qui l'ont pour refuge échappent au châtiment.

2 L’anima mia si glorierà nell’Eterno; gli umili l’udranno e si rallegreranno.

4 Io ho cercato l’Eterno, ed egli m’ha risposto e m’ha liberato da tutti i miei spaventi.

5 Quelli che riguardano a lui sono illuminati, e le loro facce non sono svergognate.

6 Quest’afflitto ha gridato, e l’Eterno l’ha esaudito e l’ha salvato da tutte le sue distrette.

7 L’Angelo dell’Eterno s’accampa intorno a quelli che lo temono, e li libera.

8 Gustate e vedete quanto l’Eterno è buono! Beato l’uomo che confida in lui.

9 Temete l’Eterno, voi suoi santi, poiché nulla manca a quelli che lo temono.

10 I leoncelli soffron penuria e fame, ma quelli che cercano l’Eterno non mancano d’alcun bene.

11 Venite, figliuoli, ascoltatemi; io v’insegnerò il timor dell’Eterno.

12 Qual è l’uomo che prenda piacere nella vita, ed ami lunghezza di giorni per goder del bene?

13 Guarda la tua lingua dal male a le tue labbra dal parlar con frode.

14 Dipartiti dal male e fa’ il bene; cerca la pace, e procacciala.

15 Gli occhi dell’Eterno sono sui giusti e le sue orecchie sono attente al loro grido.

16 La faccia dell’Eterno è contro quelli che fanno il male per sterminare di sulla terra la loro memoria.

17 I giusti gridano e l’Eterno li esaudisce e li libera da tutte le loro distrette.

18 L’Eterno e vicino a quelli che hanno il cuor rotto, e salva quelli che hanno lo spirito contrito.

19 Molte sono le afflizioni del giusto; ma l’Eterno lo libera da tutte.

20 Egli preserva tutte le ossa di lui, non uno ne è rotto.

21 La malvagità farà perire il malvagio, e quelli che odiano il giusto saranno condannati.

22 L’Eterno riscatta l’anima de’ suoi servitori, e nessun di quelli che confidano in lui sarà condannato.
