1 In Judah is God known: his name is great in Israel.

2 In Salem also is his tabernacle, and his dwelling place in Zion.

3 There brake he the arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword, and the battle. Selah.

4 Thou art more glorious and excellent than the mountains of prey.

5 The stouthearted are spoiled, they have slept their sleep: and none of the men of might have found their hands.

6 At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, both the chariot and horse are cast into a dead sleep.

7 Thou, even thou, art to be feared: and who may stand in thy sight when once thou art angry?

8 Thou didst cause judgment to be heard from heaven; the earth feared, and was still,

9 When God arose to judgment, to save all the meek of the earth. Selah.

10 Surely the wrath of man shall praise thee: the remainder of wrath shalt thou restrain.

11 Vow, and pay unto the LORD your God: let all that be round about him bring presents unto him that ought to be feared.

12 He shall cut off the spirit of princes: he is terrible to the kings of the earth.

6 A ta menace, Dieu de Jacob! Ils se sont endormis, cavaliers et chevaux.

7 Tu es redoutable, ô toi! Qui peut te résister, quand ta colère éclate?

8 Du haut des cieux tu as proclamé la sentence; La terre effrayée s'est tenue tranquille,

9 Lorsque Dieu s'est levé pour faire justice, Pour sauver tous les malheureux de la terre. -Pause.

10 L'homme te célèbre même dans sa fureur, Quand tu te revêts de tout ton courroux.

11 Faites des voeux à l'Eternel, votre Dieu, et accomplissez-les! Que tous ceux qui l'environnent apportent des dons au Dieu terrible!

12 Il abat l'orgueil des princes, Il est redoutable aux rois de la terre.

7 Tu, tu sei tremendo; e chi può reggere davanti a te quando t’adiri?

8 Dal cielo facesti udir la tua sentenza; la terra temette e tacque,

9 quando Iddio si levò per far giudicio, per salvare tutti gl’infelici della terra. Sela.

10 Certo, il furore degli uomini ridonderà alla tua lode; ti cingerai degli ultimi avanzi dei loro furori.

11 Fate voti all’Eterno, all’Iddio vostro, e adempiteli; tutti quelli che gli stanno attorno portin doni al remendo.

12 Egli recide lo spirito dei principi, egli è tremendo ai re della terra.
