1 And I turned, and lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came four chariots out from between two mountains; and the mountains were mountains of brass. 2 In the first chariot were red horses; and in the second chariot black horses; 3 And in the third chariot white horses; and in the fourth chariot grisled and bay horses. 4 Then I answered and said unto the angel that talked with me, What are these, my lord? 5 And the angel answered and said unto me, These are the four spirits of the heavens, which go forth from standing before the Lord of all the earth. 6 The black horses which are therein go forth into the north country; and the white go forth after them; and the grisled go forth toward the south country. 7 And the bay went forth, and sought to go that they might walk to and fro through the earth: and he said, Get you hence, walk to and fro through the earth. So they walked to and fro through the earth. 8 Then cried he upon me, and spake unto me, saying, Behold, these that go toward the north country have quieted my spirit in the north country.

9 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 10 Take of them of the captivity, even of Heldai, of Tobijah, and of Jedaiah, which are come from Babylon, and come thou the same day, and go into the house of Josiah the son of Zephaniah; 11 Then take silver and gold, and make crowns, and set them upon the head of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest; 12 And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the LORD: 13 Even he shall build the temple of the LORD; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both. 14 And the crowns shall be to Helem, and to Tobijah, and to Jedaiah, and to Hen the son of Zephaniah, for a memorial in the temple of the LORD. 15 And they that are far off shall come and build in the temple of the LORD, and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you. And this shall come to pass, if ye will diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God.

1 Je levai de nouveau les yeux et je regardai, et voici, quatre chars sortaient d'entre deux montagnes; et les montagnes étaient des montagnes d'airain.

2 Au premier char il y avait des chevaux roux, au second char des chevaux noirs,

3 au troisième char des chevaux blancs, et au quatrième char des chevaux tachetés, rouges.

4 Je pris la parole et je dis à l'ange qui parlait avec moi: Qu'est-ce, mon seigneur?

5 L'ange me répondit: Ce sont les quatre vents des cieux, qui sortent du lieu où ils se tenaient devant le Seigneur de toute la terre.

6 Les chevaux noirs attelés à l'un des chars se dirigent vers le pays du septentrion, et les blancs vont après eux; les tachetés se dirigent vers le pays du midi.

7 Les rouges sortent et demandent à aller parcourir la terre. L'ange leur dit: Allez, parcourez la terre! Et ils parcoururent la terre.

8 Il m'appela, et il me dit: Vois, ceux qui se dirigent vers le pays du septentrion font reposer ma colère sur le pays du septentrion.

9 La parole de l'Eternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:

10 Tu recevras les dons des captifs, Heldaï, Tobija et Jedaeja, et tu iras toi-même ce jour-là, tu iras dans la maison de Josias, fils de Sophonie, où ils se sont rendus en arrivant de Babylone.

11 Tu prendras de l'argent et de l'or, et tu en feras des couronnes, que tu mettras sur la tête de Josué, fils de Jotsadak, le souverain sacrificateur.

12 Tu lui diras: Ainsi parle l'Eternel des armées: Voici, un homme, dont le nom est germe, germera dans son lieu, et bâtira le temple de l'Eternel.

13 Il bâtira le temple de l'Eternel; il portera les insignes de la majesté; il s'assiéra et dominera sur son trône, il sera sacrificateur sur son trône, et une parfaite union régnera entre l'un et l'autre.

14 Les couronnes seront pour Hélem, Tobija et Jedaeja, et pour Hen, fils de Sophonie, un souvenir dans le temple de l'Eternel.

15 Ceux qui sont éloignés viendront et travailleront au temple de l'Eternel; et vous saurez que l'Eternel des armées m'a envoyé vers vous. Cela arrivera, si vous écoutez la voix de l'Eternel, votre Dieu.

1 E alzai di nuovo gli occhi, guardai, ed ecco quattro carri che uscivano di fra i due monti; e i monti eran monti di rame.

2 Al primo carro c’erano dei cavalli rossi; al secondo carro, dei cavalli neri;

3 al terzo carro, dei cavalli bianchi, e al quarto carro dei cavalli chiazzati di rosso.

4 E io presi a dire all’angelo che parlava meco: "Che son questi, mio signore?"

5 L’angelo rispose e mi disse: "Questi sono i quattro venti del cielo, che escono, dopo essersi presentati al Signore di tutta la terra.

6 Il carro dei cavalli neri va verso il paese del settentrione; i cavalli bianchi lo seguono; i chiazzati vanno verso il paese di mezzogiorno,

7 e i rossi escono e chiedono d’andare a percorrere la terra". E l’angelo disse loro: "Andate, percorrete la erra!" Ed essi percorsero la terra.

8 Poi egli mi chiamò, e mi parlò così: "Ecco, quelli che escono verso il paese del settentrione acquetano la mia ira sul paese del settentrione".

9 E la parola dell’Eterno mi fu rivolta in questi termini:

10 Prendi da quelli della cattività, cioè da Heldai, da Tobia e da Jedaia e récati oggi stesso in casa di iosia, figliuolo di Sofonia, dov’essi sono giunti da Babilonia,

11 prendi dell’argento e dell’oro, fanne delle corone, e mettile sul capo di Giosuè, figliuolo di Jehotsadak, sommo sacerdote,

12 e parlagli, e digli: "Così parla l’Eterno degli eserciti: Ecco un uomo, che ha nome il Germoglio; egli germoglierà nel suo luogo, ed edificherà il tempio dell’Eterno;

13 egli edificherà il tempio dell’Eterno, e porterà le insegne della gloria, e si assiderà e dominerà sul suo trono, sarà sacerdote sul suo trono, e vi sarà fra i due un consiglio di pace.

14 E le corone saranno per Helem, per Tobia, per Jedaia e per Hen, figliuolo di Sofonia, un ricordo nel tempio dell’Eterno.

15 E quelli che son lontani verranno e lavoreranno alla costruzione del tempio dell’Eterno, e voi conoscerete che l’Eterno degli eserciti m’ha mandato a voi. Questo avverrà se date veramente ascolto alla voce dell’Eterno, del vostro Dio".
