44 The tabernacle of the testimony was with our fathers in the wilderness, as he had appointed, who spoke to Moses to make it according to the model which he had seen:
45 which, also, our fathers receiving, brought in with Joshua into the possession of the heathen; whom God drove out from before the face of our fathers, until the days of David;
46 who found favor before God, and made it his petition to find a dwelling for the God of Jacob.
47 But Solomon built him a house.
48 Yet the Most High dwells not in temples made with hands: as says the prophet:
49 «Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: what house will you build for me, says the Lord;»
50 or, what is the place of my rest? Has not my hand made all these things?
12 Then Jesus went into the temple of God, and drove thence all who sold and who brought in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money-changers, and the stalls of those who sold doves,
13 «and said to them, It is written,'My house shall be called a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of robbers.'»
13 And the Jewish passover being nigh, Jesus went to Jerusalem;
14 and finding changers sitting in the temple, and people who sold cattle and sheep, and doves;
15 he made a whip of cords, and drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and cattle, scattering the coin of the changers, and oversetting their tables.
16 and he said to them, who sold doves, Take these things hence. Make not my Father's house a house of traffic.
17 «(Then his disciples remembered these words of the scripture,'My zeal for thy house consumes me.')»
19 What! do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have from God?
15 But if I tarry long, that you may know you ought to behave yourselves in the house of God, which is the congregation of the living God, the pillar and support of the truth.-
6 but Christ, as a Son, over his own house-whose house we are, if we hold fast our confidence, and the rejoicing of our hope, unshaken to the end.
