1 Heben wir denn abermal an, uns selbst zu preisen? Oder bedürfen wir, wie etliche, der Lobebriefe an euch oder Lobebriefe von euch?

2 Ihr seid unser Brief, in unser Herz geschrieben, der erkannt und gelesen wird von allen Menschen,

3 die ihr offenbar worden seid, daß ihr ein Brief Christi seid, durch unser Predigtamt zubereitet und durch uns geschrieben, nicht mit Tinte, sondern mit dem Geist des lebendigen Gottes, nicht in steinerne Tafeln, sondern in fleischerne Tafeln des Herzens.

4 Ein solch Vertrauen aber haben wir durch Christum zu GOtt.

5 Nicht daß wir tüchtig sind von uns selber, etwas zu denken als von uns selber, sondern daß wir tüchtig sind, ist von GOtt,

6 welcher auch uns tüchtig gemacht hat, das Amt zu führen des Neuen Testaments, nicht des Buchstabens, sondern des Geistes. Denn der Buchstabe tötet, aber der Geist macht lebendig.

7 So aber das Amt, das durch die Buchstaben tötet und in die Steine ist gebildet, Klarheit hatte, also daß die Kinder Israel nicht konnten ansehen das Angesicht Mose‘s um der Klarheit willen seines Angesichtes, die doch aufhöret,

8 wie sollte nicht viel mehr das Amt, das den Geist gibt, Klarheit haben?

9 Denn so das Amt, das die Verdammnis prediget, Klarheit hat, viel mehr hat das Amt, das die Gerechtigkeit prediget, überschwengliche Klarheit.

10 Denn auch jenes Teil, das verkläret war, ist nicht für Klarheit zu achten gegen diese überschwengliche Klarheit.

11 Denn so das Klarheit hatte, das da aufhöret, viel mehr wird das Klarheit haben, das da bleibet.

12 Dieweil wir nun solche Hoffnung haben, brauchen wir große Freudigkeit

13 und tun nicht wie Mose, der die Decke vor sein Angesicht hing, daß die Kinder Israel nicht ansehen konnten das Ende des, der aufhöret.

14 Sondern ihre Sinne sind verstockt; denn bis auf den heutigen Tag bleibt dieselbige Decke unaufgedeckt über dem Alten Testament, wenn sie es lesen, welche in Christo aufhöret.

15 Aber bis auf den heutigen Tag, wenn Mose gelesen wird, hängt die Decke vor ihrem Herzen.

16 Wenn es aber sich bekehrete zu dem HErrn, so würde die Decke abgetan.

17 Denn der HErr ist der Geist. Wo aber der Geist des HErrn ist, da ist Freiheit.

18 Nun aber spiegelt sich in uns allen des HErrn Klarheit mit aufgedecktem Angesichte; und wir werden verkläret in dasselbige Bild von einer Klarheit zu der andern als vom Geist des HErrn.

5 He teka kei a matou ake te tikanga mo te whakaaro ki tetahi aha, me te mea na matou ake ano; engari na te Atua matou i whai tikanga ai;

6 Nana hoki matou i tau ai hei minita mo te kawenata hou; he teka no te reta, engari no te wairua: he whakamate hoki ta te reta, he whakaora ia ta te wairua.

7 Na, mehemea te minitatanga o te mate i tuhituhia nei, i whaoa nei ki nga kohatu, i puta kororia mai, i kore ai e taea e nga tama a Iharaira te titiro matatau atu ki te mata o Mohi i te kororia o tona mata; he kororia ia e memeha ana:

8 E kore ianei e nui noa atu te kororia o te minitatanga o te wairua?

9 Na, mehemea te minitatanga o te whakatau he he kororia, heoi hira rawa atu te kororia o te minitatanga o te tika.

10 He pono hoki, kahore te mea i whakakororiatia i whai kororia i tenei wahi, ara na te kororia e hira rawa nei.

15 Na, tae noa mai ki tenei ra, ki te korerotia a Mohi, e takoto ana he hipoki ki runga i to ratou ngakau.

16 Na, kia huri ki te Ariki, ka tangohia te hipoki.

17 Na, ko te Ariki, ko te Wairua ia; ko te wahi i noho ai te Wairua o te Ariki, kei reira te tikanga herekore.

18 Ko tatou katoa ia kahore he hipoki mo te mata, e whakaahua ana i te kororia o te Atua, ano kei roto i te whakaata, a e whakaputaia ketia ana kia rite ki taua ahua ano, he kororia hono iho ki te kororia, i runga i ta te Wairua o te Ariki.
