17 Und als ich ihn sah, fiel ich zu seinen Füßen wie ein Toter; und er legte seine rechte Hand auf mich und sprach zu mir: Fürchte dich nicht! Ich bin der Erste und der Letzte18 und der Lebendige; ich war tot, und siehe, ich bin lebendig von Ewigkeit zu Ewigkeit und habe die Schlüssel der Hölle und des Todes.

17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as one dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying, Fear not; I am the first and the last, 18 and the Living one; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive for evermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades.
