41 Dieser traf zuerst seinen Bruder Simon und sagte zu ihm: »Wir haben den Messias« – das heißt übersetzt ›den Gesalbten (oder: Christus)‹ – »gefunden.«

42 Er führte ihn dann zu Jesus; dieser blickte ihn an und sagte: »Du bist Simon, der Sohn des Johannes; du sollst Kephas – das heißt übersetzt ›Fels‹ (vgl. Mt 16,18) – heißen.«

41 Finds he first the brother that own Simon, and he says to him: We have found the Messiah (which is being interpreted, Anointed.)

42 And he brought him to the Jesus. Having looked to him the Jesus said: Thou art Simon, the son of Jona; thou shalt be called Cephas; which means Peter.
