1 Sechs Tage später nahm Jesus den Petrus, Jakobus und dessen Bruder Johannes mit sich und führte sie abseits (oder: in die Einsamkeit) auf einen hohen Berg.

2 Da wurde er vor ihren Augen verwandelt: sein Antlitz leuchtete wie die Sonne, und seine Kleider wurden hellglänzend wie das Licht.

3 Und siehe, es erschienen ihnen Mose und Elia und besprachen sich mit ihm.

4 Da nahm Petrus das Wort und sagte zu Jesus: »Herr, hier sind wir gut aufgehoben! Willst du, so werde ich hier drei Hütten bauen, eine für dich, eine für Mose und eine für Elia.«

5 Während er noch redete, überschattete sie plötzlich eine lichte Wolke, und eine Stimme erscholl aus der Wolke, die sprach: »Dies ist mein geliebter Sohn, an dem ich Wohlgefallen gefunden habe (vgl. 3,17): höret auf ihn!«

1 And after days six takes the Jesus the Peter, and James, and John the brother of him; and leads up them into a mountain high privately.

2 And he was transfigured in the presence of them, and shone the face of him as the sun; the and garments of him become white as the light.

3 And lo, appeared to them Moses and Elias with him talking.

4 Answering and the Peter said to the Jesus: O lord, good it is us here to be; if thou wilt, we may make here three tents, to thee one, and Moses one, and one Elias.

5 Still of him speaking, lo, a cloud of light overshadowed them; and lo, a voice out of the cloud, saying: This is the son of me the beloved, in whom I delight; of him hear you.
