10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.The knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
24 "Everyone therefore who hears these words of mine, and does them, will be compared to a wise man, who built his house on a rock.
10 Also all that generation were gathered to their fathers: and there arose another generation after them, who didn't know the Lord, nor yet the work which he had worked for Israel.
16 Every Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness,
17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
17 Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and in teaching.
18 For the Scripture says, "You shall not muzzle the ox when it treads out the grain." And, "The laborer is worthy of his wages."
20 My son, keep your father's commandment,and do not forsake your mother's teaching.
21 Bind them continually on your heart.Tie them around your neck.
22 When you walk, it will lead you.When you sleep, it will watch over you.When you awake, it will talk with you.
23 For the commandment is a lamp,and the Law is light.Reproofs of instruction are the way of life,
16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your heart to God.
1 A contemplation by Asaph.Hear my teaching, my people.Turn your ears to the words of my mouth.
2 I will open my mouth in a parable.I will utter dark sayings of old,
3 which we have heard and known,and our fathers have told us.
4 We will not hide them from their children,telling to the generation to come the praises of the Lord,his strength, and his wondrous works that he has done.
13 Take firm hold of instruction.Do not let her go.Keep her, for she is your life.
14 Do not enter into the path of the wicked.Do not walk in the way of evil men.
8 My son, listen to your father's instruction,and do not forsake your mother's teaching:
9 for they will be a garland to grace your head,and chains around your neck.
14 The teaching of the wise is a spring of life,to turn from the snares of death.
5 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.
6 These words, which I command you this day, shall be on your heart;
7 and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up.
9 Whoever goes on and does not remain in the teaching of Christ, does not have God. He who remains in the teaching, the same has both the Father and the Son.
14 But when it was now the midst of the feast, Jesus went up into the temple and taught.
15 The Jewish leaders therefore marveled, saying, "How does this man know letters, having never been educated?"
16 Jesus therefore answered them, "My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me.
17 If anyone desires to do his will, he will know about the teaching, whether it is from God, or if I am speaking from myself.
18 He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory, but he who seeks the glory of him who sent him is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.
5 Get wisdom.Get understanding.Do not forget, neither swerve from the words of my mouth.
6 Do not forsake her, and she will preserve you.Love her, and she will keep you.
7 Wisdom is supreme.Get wisdom.Yes, though it costs all your possessions, get understanding.
8 Esteem her, and she will exalt you.She will bring you to honor, when you embrace her.
1 The proverbs of Solomon, the son of David, king of Israel:
2 to know wisdom and instruction;to discern the words of understanding;
3 to receive instruction in wise dealing,in righteousness, justice, and equity;
4 to give prudence to the simple,knowledge and discretion to the young man:
5 that the wise man may hear, and increase in learning;that the man of understanding may attain to sound counsel:
6 to understand a proverb, and parables,the words and riddles of the wise.
7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;but the foolish despise wisdom and instruction.
4 For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that through patience and through encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
16 But shun empty chatter, for they will proceed further in ungodliness,
17 and their word will consume like gangrene, of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;
23 Keep your heart with all diligence,for out of it is the wellspring of life.
24 Put away from yourself a perverse mouth.Put corrupt lips far from you.
25 Let your eyes look straight ahead.Fix your gaze directly before you.
26 Make the path of your feet level.Let all of your ways be established.
27 Do not turn to the right hand nor to the left.Remove your foot from evil.
