»Stop judging, so that you will not be judged.
»As you judge, so you will be judged. As you measure, it will be measured to you.
»Why do you see the speck in your brothers eye? Do you not consider the beam in your own eye?
»Will you tell your brother, I will remove the speck from your eye when there is a beam in your own eye?
»You hypocrite! First remove the beam out of your own eye. Then you can see to remove the speck out of your brothers eye.
»Do not give holy things to the dogs impure personsfalse prophets (Matthew 7:15). Do not throw your pearls before swine the most unclean. They will trample them under their feet and turn and tear you to pieces.
»Ask and it will be given you. Seek and you will find. Knock and it will be opened for you.
»Everyone who asks receives. Everyone who seeks finds, and everyone who knocks will have it opened.
»Who among you, who would give his son a stone when he asks him for bread?
»Who will give him a serpent when he asks for a fish?
»Even though you are a sinner, you know how to give good gifts to your children. Think how much more your Father in heaven gives good things to those who ask him!
»Do for others the same as you would have them to do for you. That is the meaning of the Law and the Prophets.
»Enter through the narrow gate, since the gate to destruction is wide and the road that leads to destruction is wide and many enter through it.
»Narrow is the gate and difficult is the way to life. Only a few put forth the effort. Yes, only a few people enter the narrow gate.
»Watch out for the false prophets. They are disguised as sheep. But in their hearts they are vicious wolves.
»By their fruits you will know them. Do men get grapes from thorns or figs from thistles?
»Every good tree gives righteous fruit. The bad tree gives evil fruit.
»A good tree does not give bad fruit. A bad tree does not give good fruit.
»Every tree that does not produce good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
»Therefore by their fruits you will know them.
»Not everyone who calls me Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven. He who does the will of my Father in heaven will enter.
»Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?
»I will say to them, I never knew you. Depart from me, you workers of evil.
»Everyone who hears my words, and does them is like a wise man that builds his house on a rock.
»The rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat upon that house; and it did not fall. It was built on a solid rock foundation.
»Every one who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand.
»The rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew and battered the house and it fell with a great crash.«
When Jesus had finished these words, the crowds were astonished at what he taught.
He taught them as one having authority, and not as their scribes.
