31 »Those who hope in Jehovah will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary! They will walk and not be faint.«
8 Taste and see that Jehovah is good. Blessed is the person who takes refuge in him.
13 Come now, you that say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to this city, and spend a year there, and trade, and make profit."
14 You do not know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? For you are a vapor puff of air that appears for a little while and then vanishes away.
15 You should say, "If God wills, we should both live, and do this or that."
16 You glory in your conceit. Such glory is evil.
17 He that knows to do good, and does not do it, to him it is sin.
25 »I will sprinkle clean water on you and make you clean instead of unclean. Then I will cleanse you from all your idols.
26 »I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you. I will remove your stubborn hearts and give you obedient hearts.
27 »I will put my Spirit in you. I will enable you to live by my Laws, and you will obey my rules.
10 They disciplined us for a few days for their own pleasure. He disciplines for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.
11 Now no discipline for the present seems to be joyous. In fact it seems grievous! Nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained.
11 I know the plans that I have for you, says Jehovah. They are plans for peace and not disaster. They are plans to give you a future filled with hope.
14 Above all these things, put on love, which is the bond of perfection and unity.
15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts. You were called in one body for this purpose. You be thankful.
11 He made everything appropriate beautifulgood in its time. God placed eternity in the heart of man. For man is unable to see the works of God from the first to the last.
17 If any man is in Christ, he is a new creature: the old things have passed away. Behold, they have become new.
13 Brothers, I could not yet have obtained it. But one thing I do, I forget the things that are behind, and stretch forward to the things that are ahead.
14 I press on toward the goal to the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
12 Not that I have already obtained, or am already made perfect. But I press on, that I may obtain that for which Christ Jesus also obtained.
13 Brothers, I could not yet have obtained it. But one thing I do, I forget the things that are behind, and stretch forward to the things that are ahead.
14 I press on toward the goal to the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
15 Let those of us who are mature have this attitude. If you have a different attitude God will show you how to think.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy he gave us a new birth to a living hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
7 Surrender to Jehovah and wait patiently for him. Do not be preoccupied with an evildoer who succeeds in his way when he carries out his schemes.
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast dependable spirit within me.
11 Do not force me away from your presence, and do not take your Holy Spirit from me.
